Sabbath-Rest John Cai 2025.02.28 1 The Ever Changing World V U C A Volatile Uncertain Complex Ambiguous B A N I 2 Brittle Anxious Non-linear Incomprehensible God Said Isa 30: 15-17 This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it. You said, 'No, we will flee on horses.' Therefore you will flee! You said, 'We will ride off on swift horses.' Therefore your pursuers will be swift! A thousand will flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five you will all flee away, till you are left like a flagstaff on a mountaintop, like a banner on a hill." 3 Rest VS 4 Restless God Wait Isa 30: 18 Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper. They are only a matter of food and drink and various ceremonial washings--external regulations applying until the time of the new order. When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not manmade, that is to say, not a part of this creation. He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own 7 blood, having obtained eternal redemption.
