One Track Mind

Romans 1:1 KJV 1900
1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
Paul the man with a one track mind
Paul Preached the Gospel
Paul Practiced the Gospel
Paul Immortalized(supported) the Gospel - He loved the Gospel
Romans 1:16 “16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
lets look at how Paul related to the Gospel
Paul was saved by the gospel -Jesus came to Him on the damascus road - also think of the stoning of Stephen - was preaching the Gospel
Acts 7:58 “58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.”
Acts 9:3–6 “3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? 5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.”
In this we see the power of the Gospel - the conversion of Paul was miraculous -
In this we see the Purpose of the Gospel - to save
In this we see the Prosperity of the Gospel - It transforms the worst of sinners
2. Paul was separated unto the Gospel
He didn’t give it second place in his life or love for the brethren.
Paul’s life was absorbed by the Gospel, seen in
His Preaching of it - Galatians 1:1 “1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)”
His Practice of it - (it was according to the Gospel)
1 Corinthians 15:1–6 “1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.”
His protection of it - (Committed to my trust)
1 Timothy 1:11 “11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.”
3. Paul was serving God by the Gospel
In preaching the Gospel Paul served God
In preaching the Gospel Paul served God and also served men
4. Paul was saturated with the Gospel,
Romans 1:15 “15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.”
Preaching the Gospel was the determination of His heart
Preaching the Gospel was the dedication of His life,
Preaching the Gospel was the divine basis of rewards
2 Timothy 4:1–8 “1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
