I. The Angel Said These Things:

A. The Faithful: trustworthy,trustful, sure true

B. A True Witness: by analogy a martyr

C. The Beginning of the Creation of God: original formation, God Created the World

Revelation 3:14 “14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;”

II. God Knows Your Works, If You Are Hot or Cold

A. You Are Lukewarm: Neither Cold or Hot

B. I Will Spue You Out of My Mouth

C. You Say That You Are Rich

D. That You Have No Need of Nothing

E. You Are Wretched: enduring trial that is miserable

F. Miserable: pitiable/to be pitied

G. You Are Poor: a beggar, that is a pauper (strictly denoting absolute or public mendicancy: the act of begging or the state of being a beggar

H. You Are Blind: physically or mentally blind

I. You Are Naked: nude

Revelation 3:15–17 “15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:”

III. I Counsel You

A. To Buy Gold from Me

B. Tried in the Fire: fiery fire

C. So That You Maybe Rich

D. And White Raiment, So You Maybe Cloth Your Nakedness Doesn’t Appear

E. Anoint Your Eyes With Eyesalve: as made of or in the form of crackers/a plaster

F. So You Can See

Revelation 3:18 “18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.”

IV. Since I Love You:

A. I Rebuke: (admonish/convince, tell of a fault) You

B. I Chasten: discipline by punishment

C. Be Zealous: envy be jealous over

D. Therefore and Repent: to thing differently/reconsider

Revelation 3:19 “19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.”

V. Behold

A. Stand at the Door

B. And I Knock

C. If Any Man Will Hear My Voice: address

D. And Open the Door: a portal or entrance

E. I Will Come Into Him

F. I Will Sup: to dine that is take principal meal) With Him

Revelation 3:20 “20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

G. And He With Me

VI. If You Overcome

A. I Will Grant Him to Sit With Me on My Throne

B. Even as I Have Overcame

C. And I Am Set Down With My Father in His Throne

D. If You Have an Ear, Listen to What the Spirit Says to the Churches

Revelation 3:21–22 “21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”
