Τῇ ἐπαύριον ὁ ὄχλος ὁ ἑστηκὼς πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης ⸀εἶδον ὅτι πλοιάριον ἄλλο οὐκ ἦν ἐκεῖ εἰ μὴ ἓν ⸆ καὶ ὅτι οὐ συνεισῆλθεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὸ πλοῖον ἀλλὰ μόνοι οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἀπῆλθον·* 23 ⸂ἄλλα ⸀ἦλθεν ⸁πλοιάρια⸃ ἐκ Τιβεριάδος ἐγγὺς τοῦ τόπου ὅπου ἔφαγον τὸν ἄρτον ⸋εὐχαριστήσαντος τοῦ κυρίου⸌.* 24 ⸂ὅτε οὖν εἶδεν ὁ ὄχλος ὅτι Ἰησοῦς οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκεῖ⸃ οὐδὲ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ, ⸀ἐνέβησαν ⸄αὐτοὶ εἰς τὰ πλοιάρια⸅ καὶ ἦλθον εἰς Καφαρναοὺμ ζητοῦντες τὸν Ἰησοῦν.* 25 καὶ εὑρόντες αὐτὸν πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης εἶπον αὐτῷ· ῥαββί, πότε ὧδε ⸀γέγονας;

Translation
[22] The next day the crowd was standing on the other side of the lake and they saw that there was not another boat there and that Jesus had not come with the disciples in the boat but his disciples had come alone.
[23] Another boat came from the Tiberias near the place where they had eaten the bread and given thanks to the Lord.
[24] Now that the crowd saw that Jesus was not there nor his disciples, they embarked in a boat and arrived in Capernaum looking for Jesus.
[25] And when they found him on the other side of the lake they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”

Text

Translation
[26] Answer them, Jesus said, “Truly Truly I say to you, you looked for me not because you saw signs, but because you ate out of the bread and you were filled.
[27] Work not for the food that is destroyed but the food that stays in eternal life, that the son of man gives to you. For this God the Father seals up.
[28] Then they said to him, “What work must be we do to do the work of God?”
[29] Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in the one that he has sent.”

[30] Now they said to him, “What sign do you do, so that we may see and we may believe you? What work?
[31] Our father [gave] manna to eat in the desert, just as it is written, “Bread out of heaven he gave them to eat.”
[32] And Jesus said to them, “Truly truly I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gave you the true bread out of heaven.”
[33] For the bread of God has come down out of heaven and given life to the world.
[34] Now they said to him, “Lord, always give us this bread.”
[35] Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Come to me and you will not hunger, and believe in me and you will never thirst.”
[36] But you say that see me and you do not believe.
[37] All things my father given to me, and those who come to me will not be thrown out,
[38] that going down from heaven not to do my will but the will of the one who sent me.
[39] And this is the will of the one who sent me, that all he has given me would not be destroyed by him, but he would stand in the last day.
[40] For this is the will of my father, that all who look at the son and believe in him have eternal life, and I will rise him up on the last day.
[41] Now the Jews grumbled about him for saying, “I am the bread that comes out of heaven,
[42] and they said, “Is this not Jesus the son of Joseph, and do we not know the father and the mother? Now how can he say that he comes down out of heaven?
[43] Jesus answered and said to them, “Do not grumble with one another.
[44]No one is able to come to me unless the father who sends me draw him, and I raise him in the last day.
[45] It is written in the prophets, and they will all be taught by God, all who hear from the father and learn come to me.
[46] Not that the father sees anyone if they are not from God, these ones see the father.
[47] Truly, truly I say to you, those who believe have eternal life.
[48] I am the bread of life.
[49] Your fathers ate in the desert the manna and died;
[50] This is the bread that came out of heaven, so that anyone who eats of him will not die.
[51] I am the bread of life that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats out of this bread he has life in the eternity, and the bread that I give is my flesh upon which the world has life.
[52] Now the Jews began to fight one another saying, “How is this man able to give us his flesh to eat?
[53] Now Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly I say to you, if you do not eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, you will not have life in him.
[54] The one who eats my flesh and drink my blood will have life eternal, and I will raise him up in the last day.
[55] For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
[56] The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.
[57] Just as the father who sent me is life so also life is from the father, and the one who eats me will have life from me.
[58] This is the bread that came down out of heaven, not that your fathers ate and died; the one who eats this bread has life in eternity.
[59] This he spoke and taught in a synagogue in Capernaum.
[60] Now when all of his disciples heard this they said, “This is a hard word. Who can hear it?”
[61] But Jesus knew in himself about this grumbling from his disciples and he said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble?”
[62] Now what if you saw the son of man going up to where he formerly was?
[63] The Spirit gives life, the flesh does not benefit anybody. The words I speak to you are spirit and life.
[64] But from you are some who do not believe. For Jesus knew the power of those who did not believe and therefore did not entrust himself to them.
[65] And he said, “Through this I say to you that nobody comes towards me if it is not given him by the father.”
[66] From this, many of his disciples departed from him and no longer followed him.
[67] Now Jesus said to the twelve, “And do you wish to not follow me too?”
[68] Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, towards whom should we go? Your words are eternal life,
[69] and we believe and we know that you are the Holy One of God.
[70] Jesus answered him, “Have I not chosen you twelve to speak? And from you is one devil.
[71] But he said this of Judah Simon Iscariot; for this one was about to hand him over, he was one of the twelve.
