2 Chronicles 7:14

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgives their sin and will heal their land.

The setting of the Individual Lament in

I wish, desire, a longing, a request or petition. Usualy has the idea of worship, prayer and fasting.

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways submit to him,

and he will make your paths straight.

6 Seek the LORD while he may be found;

call on him while he is near.

13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

How to seek God’s face
Enter into His presence and recognize you are in a holy place
Walk humbly
Set up times to pray, not a one time thing
Gather people to make this a matter of prayer
Pour out your request to God
Come back frequently
Allow time to listen
Fast as you pray
Come back to align yourself under His will
