We are in the series, Fearless - WHY?

Want to teach you how to fight. The enemy isn’t stopping, so we cant stop either.

We want you to live out one of my favorite scriptures:

Ephesians 6:10–12 ESV

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

What Makes the Armor of God?

Belt of truth: Separates us from the world and protects us from lies 

Shield of faith: Protects us

Helmet of salvation: Protects the head, which is the seat of the mind 

Sword of the Spirit: The Word of God, which allows us to take the offensive.

Shoes of peace: Prepares us for moving forward successfully 

Breastplate of righteousness (TODAY) : Protects us and brings Boldness

MY FAVORITE PART IS WHEN HE PUTS ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS…. A WAVE OF BOLDNESS COMES UPON HIM!

What is the BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Righteous: morally right or justifiable (Adjective | Description)

Righteousness: Person free from guilt or sin (Noun| Who you are)

Righteousness meaning in Hebrew: Se-Dec | What is correct, right thing or salvation.

Proverbs 28:1 “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.”

Boldness is what keeps us fighting…

Moses: Faced his past and returned to Egypt, where he was wanted as a prisoner

David: Faced impossible situations, including Goliath 

Daniel: Was faithful to God, even when others plotted against him 

Jeremiah: A prophet who spoke the truth to a rebellious Israel, even when they threatened to kill him

Peter: His boldness was astonishing to those who saw him, even though he was uneducated and ordinary 

LADIES I didn’t forget about you!

Esther: A faithful Jew who risked her life to save her people 

Mary: The mother of Jesus, who trusted God's plan for her life and gave birth to the Messiah 

Shif-rah and Puah: Hebrew midwives who showed bravery and strength in the face of danger from the king of Egypt 

WHATS YOUR STORY? WHAT IS THE STORM YOU ARE IN??? WHATEVER IT IS, GOD IS WRITING IT AND AS LONG AS YOU PUT ON THE ARMOR OF GOD NO WEAPON WILL PIERCE YOUR HEART.

POINT 1: When you put on the Breastplate of Righteousness, you are being sealed and covered by God!

WHY DO WE NEED IT?

1.Protection Against the Enemy’s Accusations

-Satan is called the accuser, he always tells lies!

How many times does he use our friends, bosses, and family to speak lies and accuse us?

Thats like one of the biggest plays in his book.

Revelation 12:10 “And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.”

    •    Romans 8:1 – “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

2.Guarding Our Heart from Sin

(the sin in your life, will destroy you and will cause a barrier between you and God.)

    •    Proverbs 4:23 – “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”

    •    Unrighteousness weakens our spiritual defense, making us vulnerable to attacks.

3. Strength to Stand Firm in Holiness

    •    1 Peter 1:16 – “Be holy, for I am holy.”

    •    Righteous living keeps us in alignment with God’s purpose.

POINT 2: The Breastplate reminds us that the Armor of God belongs to God, it not ours.

Many Times the Armor is looked as a “gift” but its not true, its a reminder that GOD is literally with us when we are fighting!

We try to face our problems alone but when we understand that we are using an undefeated armory nothing can have hold against us.

Do you mind if we use the Armor for a second?

For those who struggle with

-Pride | We fight it under God’s authority.

-Lust | We fight it under God’s authority.

-Addiction | We fight it under God’s authority.

-Anger | We fight it under God’s authority.

-Depression | We fight it under God’s authority.

-Poverty | We fight it under God’s authority.

I know I just said something we are all struggling with…. but I also know The stronghold Dwindles when we use the Armor of God!

YOU MAY BE TIRED, BUT THE ARMOR IS PROTECTION. USE YOUR SHIELD OF FAITH AND ALLOW HIM TO PROTECT YOUR HEART!

THIS IS NO ORDINARY BATTLE, and it Calls for Extraordinary armor!

THE GOOD NEWS is Your Righteousness comes from the Father.

We are not Average soldiers. We are CO-Hiers of the Great High Priest, Children of the Undefeated King!

Isaiah 54:17 “no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.””

POINT 3: How Do We Put On the Breastplate of Righteousness?

Salvation, Word, Set yourself Apart, Power from Holy Spirit

1.Receive Christ’s Righteousness by Faith

    •    Salvation is the starting point

Romans 10:10 “For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

    2. Walk in Obedience to God’s Word

    •    James 1:22 – “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.”

   3. Live a Life of Repentance and Holiness

    •    1 John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us.”

   4. Rely on the Power of the Holy Spirit

    •    Galatians 5:16 – “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”

Prayer:

-For some you have been trying to battle alone, today you want to start wearing the Armor in a new way and really put it on.

-Today you might of felt convicted as I started speaking on how we put on the breastplate of righteousness (Salvation, Word, Set yourself Apart, Power from Holy Spirit) Would you raised your hand if thats you so I know who I am praying for this week?
