Ask for Wisdom with Faith

James1:5-8

James 1:5–8 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

5 - “If any of you lacks wisdom,

During trials and difficulties it is common we catch ourselves lacking wisdom of how to deal with that situation.

E nos momentos ruims onde facilmente ficamos cegos ao mundo a nossa volta. E onde o desespero aparece. E eh nesse momento que Tiago nos lembra de algo muito importante.

let him ask God,

We are to ask wisdom to God. Devemos nos lembrar de Deus nessas horas, e pedir sabedoria a Ele, poque…

who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

It is interesting that James reminds us God’s character. The father that is on the search to give to his Children.

Deus ele e nosso Pai. E ele nos da sabedoria sem impecilhos.

6 - But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

With faith. Faith is what moves us closer to God. James is urging us to ask believing that God will give us.

This does not mean that he will give according to our will. I mean, wisdom may come in many ways, but we are to trust God’s providence.

Nao significa que temos que ter uma fe perfeita. Que Deus tem um sensor que a qualquer sombra de falta de fe em nossos coracoes ele vai cancelar suas bencaos.

Mark 9:23-24

23 And Jesus said to him, “ ‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

7 - 8 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

double-mindedness by pointing out that no one can serve two masters (Matt. 6:24; Luke 16:13)

James here is talking exactly the way Jesus said in the sermon of the mountain. Double minded means that this person asks God for wisdom, and goes on the search of other sources to guarantee that his will come to fruition.

Esse e o tipo de pessoa que esta em cima do muro. Ela joga pros dois lados na esperanca de conseguir o que quer. Essa pessoa nao pode contar que vai conseguir de Deus o que quer, pois ela nunca confiou em Deus em primeiro lugar. E desse tipo de pessoa que Deus esta falando quando diz sobre a fe.

Tiago fala de uma forma dura para com as pessoas que duvidam pois a Fe e uma parte essencial. A fe e a base que previne a pessoa de ser jogada de um lado para o outro. Como veremos mais adiante no livro, a fe e o que nos faz mover na direcao correta. Na verdade e a Fe que gera as acoes em nossas vidas.

11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

A oergunta que tenho para voces e: Voce acredita que Deus age ate hoje?

Deia eu perguntar de uma forma diferente, voce te fe que Deus age na sua vida em todos os sentidos hoje, agora?

Como voce anda, demonstra a sua fe no Deus que age? ou os pes estao um em cada lado da Linha?

Quero contar uma historia de Fe, e milagre que aconteceu a muitos anos atras. E uma historia verdadeira, que mostra alguns principios muito importantes.

o Primeiro e muito importante é Ensina seu filho no caminho que Deve andar.

Essa historia aconteceu comigo. e eu quero conta-la hoje como um testemunho de que Deus ele age sempre, da forma que ele quer de acordo com seus principios, e para a sua Gloria. E tambem de que devemos confiar nele e somente nele.
