1 Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.
ill - sick.
LAzarus - God helped
Bethany - house of poverty. HAHA I like this town.
Mary - who comes up often, loved Jesus, emotional.
Martha - Hard working, sensible.
Jesus was close to this family .
2 It was Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was ill.
annouinted the Lord with ointment - likely hasn’t happened yet.
3 So the sisters sent to him, saying, “Lord, he whom you love is ill.”
Lord - they aknowledge him as Lord,
Whom you love - agape.
They didn’t even have to say his name. They knew JEsus would know.
HAHA - MOTHER, YOU KNOW HOW IM YOUR FAVORITE - YOUR NOT IN TEH TOP 5.
4 But when Jesus heard it he said, “This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”
Jesus heard it -
The illness does not lead to death - Not real death.
It is for the glory of God, so that Son of God may be gloried through it - The reason for all suffering.
5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
Second time now, He loved him.
The circumstances that they were in did not change the Love God had for them, and....

6 So, when he heard that Lazarus was ill, he stayed two days longer in the place where he was.
Huh? He stayed longer because he was sick?
3 times already Jesus healed people from a distance, but he didn;t hear. Why?
7 Then after this he said to the disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.” 8 The disciples said to him, “Rabbi, the Jews were just now seeking to stone you, and are you going there again?”
What’s happening in your life, is so that you may believe
