In the OT…the tabernacle was the dwelling place of God.
When they wanted to get in his presence…the tabernacle was the vehicle.
God gave them a process by which they were to come into his presence.
Though we are under a new covenant now there are principles in the particulars of the tabernacle that are useful today.
____________
The Outer Court
When they came into the outer court…there was only one way right heart posture!
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
Open your time of prayer by thanking God for all he has done for you.
Think of first reasons | The old faithfuls
Think of fresh reasons | Something from this week.

2. The Brazen Altar | REMEMBER THE CROSS
They would then come to an altar where a sacrifice was to be made.
We don’t have to do this anymore because on sacrifice was made once and for all.
The brazen altar reminds us of the fact that the cross has paid it all!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, 5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
REMEMBER THE BENEFITS OF THE CROSS!
Salvation - God forgives all my sin
Healing - God heals all my diseases
Redemption - God rescues and restores me
Transformation - God changes me into his likeness
Blessing - God provides everything I need.
______________
3. The Laver
The laver was a place where they would wash themselves.
The place of cleansing.
This represents a time of saying search me o God…
If you give God space he will show you anything in your heart that is keeping you from reflecting his nature.
This is the pursuit of holiness…
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
AREAS TO BE CLEANSED
My eyes - What I look at
My ears - What I listen to
My mind - What I think about
My tongue - What I say
My hands - What I do
