Barnabas and Saul Commissioned

Starting in Acts 13, we will (almost) exclusively begin following Paul and his journey’s through the Gentile world. In this chapter specifically we read about the beginning of Paul’s first missionary Journey. By this point in the church, there have been many people added to the church, and a lot of Gentiles added as well, but to reach the entire Gentile world, it is going to take travelling to the further most reaches living out the great commission to go through the whole world teaching the Gospel to every creature.
God had decided it was time for Paul to move on his purpose as an apostle. Paul was to be the apostle to the gentile world and now, starting from Turkey, he would head towards Greece. Acts 13:1-3

1 Now there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers, Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a lifelong friend of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.
