1. What happens when the Word dwells richly in us?
Joy
Encouragement
Circumstances don’t necessarily change, but our outlook and
perspective does
“Jeremiah 15:16: Your words were found and I ate them, and
they were to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart.” (from the lesson)
“The word ingested into our hearts safeguards his joy in us
and enlightens our perspective.”
I see God for who He truly is!
The
attributes of God (knowing Him)
2. How does God’s Word dwell richly in us? In
all its richness, fill our lives
This verse is parallel to Eph. 5:18-19
The only difference is, this one says Let the Word of Christ
dwell in you
Ephesians says, Be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Catch this connected.
Jesus and the Holy Spirit are God. They are one.
As we are filled with the Spirit and filled with the Word of
God,
We will be filled with Psalms, Hymns, and spiritual songs,
and will be making melody in our hearts before the Lord and to others.
Being filled with Jesus and the Holy Spirit will make us
joyful, fruitful, useful Christians.
This requires day by day feeding on the Scriptures,
meditating on them, obeying them, and living by them.
Songs, hymns and spiritual songs.
Singing with grace in our hearts
In all
wisdom: All wisdom is found in him (Col. 2:3: “in him are hidden the treasures
of wisdom and knowledge.” Wisdom itself is characterized by its teachers.
In all
teaching (instruction) This is for the whole church. Be at home with in the
gospel, and let it be at home in you. Stocked like a palace filled with
treasures.
Heb
4:12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest
two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It
exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
In all
admonishing
With
singing: The things we are learning are expressed with gratitude and overflow
with praise in song
