God called St. Patrick, while still a slave in Ireland, to trust in him and follow him, and have joy and peace in his heart. Patrick found that peace and joy. And years later, having escaped and been trained for ministry, Patrick heard God's call to return to Ireland, to take the gospel for others to hear and respond to that call too. And he is still calling people to turn to him, to trust in Jesus, and to know forgiveness, joy, hope and life, in his love and mercy to us.
