The Great White Throne

Introduction

There are a number of judgments described in Scripture. There is the judgment of sin at the cross, the judgment of the believer in this life and again at the judgment seat of Christ, the judgment of the living nations, and this judgment - the judgment of the wicked dead at the great white throne.

The Fearful Sight

The seat of all power - “The throne”

The source of all power - “He that sat on the throne”

The sign of all power - “a banished universe”

The Final Summons

The Presence of the wicked dead is required at this judgment

The past of the wicked dead is reviewed at this judgment

It Is total judgment - “small and great”

It is truthful judgment - “the books were opened”

It is terrible judgment - “according to their works”

The Fatal Sentence

The Final prison - “death and hell were cast into the lake of fire”

The final punishment - “whosoever was not found written”
