Introduction

For this Sunday, we’re going to have some activities: It’s a refresh of something Mike & Pam helped with last year. I’m calling it a “night of the arts.”
I’m going to have the students go through Ephesians 1-3 (maybe 4 if we need more groups). 4-5 students per group. Each group will have an assigned text. During their time together they need to accomplish 4 “arts.”

1. Poetry.

“Write a 5 line limerick. Your leaders can help you by writing an example on the whiteboard. The Limerick should explain or reflect your passage of Scripture.

2. Fine Arts.

Create a poster (I will get the posters). Only three words are allowed on the poster, the rest of the space must be filled with “beautiful art” that explains a central point or reflection of your passage.

3. Performance Arts.

You must create and perform a script where each group member has two sentences of dialogue. It must be “situational dialogue” that explains or reflects your passage.

4. Musical Arts.

You can either sing a part of a song (yes, all of you), or use hand motions a’la Napoleon Dynamite for a part of a song representing your passage.

Performance

All of these will be shown at the end tonight, so we’ll help you use your time wisely.
