the Issue
The Corinthians didn’t connect the salvation of their souls with their daily conduct.
They were focused on THEIR RIGHTS — what they DESERVED
Their RIGHTS had TAKEN OVER THEIR REDEMPTION
so they got more touchy about losing their RIGHTS than LIVING in the WAY
THE HUGE ISSUE
Seeking to be Saved, but Living in the World
They hurt me so i demand a pound of Flesh in return.
the hurt me, i will hurt them worse.
You bring a fist, ill bring a knife, you bring a knife, i will bring a gun.
Ill call my attorney —- is a common call today...
Why not seek to WORK IT OUT peacefully.
Yet we confront ONE of the challenges in our world today.
Problem:
We follow the ways of the world instead of the Ways of our LORD
We seek Vengeance
We seek to be made whole.
26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?
SHOULD WE MAKE EVERY WRONG RIGHT
We should seek to live peacefully
18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
Peacefully —-
some times —- letting go is the right thing
Are you not WHOLE in CHRIST ALONE?
Cory speaks often on wanting something that God has not provide
His drive is much nobler than mine.
I have sought all my life to be WEALTHY —- EARTHLY WEALTH — OH YAY
Yet my wife will remind me that —— It may not be our Path
My path BIBLICALLY is to build up
in Heaven and NOT on EARTH.

When i get my head in line with God
Does it matter if I have a 100 or a million?

Is our focus on healthy retirement or HEAVENLY treasure.
Its hard.
Let me ask you a question — it is a hard one.
If you look at your expenditures of 2024,
Is our giving to the church in the top three
Did you give more to CHRIST than to eating out, or vacations.
If our expenditure on comforts, luxuries, amusements, etc., is up to the standard common among those with the same income as our own, we are probably giving away too little.
If our charities do not at all pinch or hamper us, I should say they are too small.
There ought to be things we should like to do and cannot because our charitable expenditure excludes them.

WOW THAT IS A HARD TRUTH
Let me give you some Truth.
—— i spend more on vacations last year than i gave to HIM
I was convicted —- yet i thought about justification before repentence.
It is a battle in the mind, to Pause and notice my heart.
How about YOU?
did you spend more on remodeling your home than on Charity?
This is not a message on giving
BUT ON MINDSET

Our mind must align with Christ.
Not in some things but in all things
Paul reminds us that in the future we will judge the Angels
3 Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life!
The issue is not our income or our expenses
If you mind is in CHRIST —- You give!!!!
and because you GIVE you LOSE focus on HOLDING ON
This is the LESSON
Suing or creating disunity over earthly things is not GOOD
He gave all
Jesus did not have a place to lay HIS GODLY HEAD
why do we think we are ENTITLED.
We will sue, argue, and create disunity
because of our earthly possessions
which we think are OURS and NOT HIS
our Salvation is the GREATEST TREASURE
and we should live our LIFE to HONOR that.

Capital One asked WHAT IS IN YOUR WALLET?
Christ asks WHAT IS IN YOUR HEART?
We need to WALK in WISDOM, and WALK WORTHY
We need to have a
HEART FULL OF CHRIST
A Mind to OBEY CHRIST
Cultivate OTHERS
and WALK WORTHY ( FYI not on SUNDAY alone)
Conflict will arise....

Lets look at Matthew 18:15–18
“15 “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
16 But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses.
17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
18 Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
LIVE DIFFERENTLY
HERE IS THE GOD SYSTEM
Talk to the person —- FIRST, not after GOSSIP
Be direct —- Bible says to POINT IT OUT
Bring a CHRISTIAN FRIEND OR TWO —- warning not a co-conspirator, but a CHRIST FIRST Person
THEN bring it to the CHURCH —— This is not done well in the church today
Then we cease fellowship.
Any one here see that get out of order.......

One of the main points in this Scripture is verse
You bring your issues to the CHURCH
The Saints will judge the world
2 Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases?
Paul’s WHY
is the SAME WHY that HORIZON HAS
4 So if you have such cases, why do you lay them before those who have no standing in the church?
5 I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no one among you wise enough to settle a dispute between the brothers,
6 but brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?
Do you think the world doesn’t see the MESS of the CHURCH today?
The fighting —- the law suits —- the public accusations — the shame that is advertised on social media of a fallen pastor
ASK yourself —- if you didn’t come to church —— would you come?
The world is full of DISUNITY, DIVIDE, and DESTRUCTION
Isn’t Paul telling us to BE THE OPPOSITE
Be
a CONFLICT RESOLVER,
a UNIFIER of the BELIEVERS,
and a BUILDER of the CHURCH
COME ON PEOPLE —- LETS get excited this MORNING
WE want to be with the SAINTS when they COME MARCHING IN
We are FEARFULLY of Suffering
We don’t fear death, but we fear the pain
We don’t fear driving, but we fear the crash
We fear disease, but eat horrible
We do more to AVOID PAIN, then SEEK the JOY Of JESUS
HERE IS the CONCLUSION of the MATTER
WE NEED TO GET OUR MINDS RIGHT!!
WE NEED TO TRUST< TO ALIGN WITH JESUS
SUFFER THE WRONG because JESUS can REPLACE
BE defrauded, because my IDENTITY is in JESUS
We are to LOVE GOD, and LOVE OTHERS
PAUL addresses this in our closing verse today
8 But you yourselves wrong and defraud—even your own brothers!
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Let’s be DIFFERENT
CHANGED
CONVICTED in CHRIST
Unity is HONORING GOD
We state to GLORIFY GOD in our Statement
GLORIFYING GOD is LIVING like CHRIST
Take the suffering, take the attach, take the injustice
and Respond in Love
8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.
LIVE out LOVE
Heart Work leads to
Mindset change leads
to LIVING in LINE with the Lord
Lets commit to loving and living BECAUSE of our Salvation, and lose the focus on OUR RIGHTS
