Faith is not a refuge from reality. It is a demand that we face reality, with all its difficulties, opportunities, and implications.
Evelyn Underhill (Exponent of the Mystical Life)
A young boy was playing with building blocks, creating the tallest tower he could. Just as he finished, his little sister bumped into it, sending the tower crashing down. Instead of getting upset, the boy laughed and started rebuilding right away. Like this boy, we can show our faithfulness by starting over after life's challenges, mirroring Christ's resilience in a fallen world.
You have to show them in your own person the literal truth of the other great Ignatian saying: ‘I come from God—I belong to God—I am destined for God!’

In the book of Ruth, Ruth remains faithful to Naomi despite the hardships they face. She follows Naomi back to Bethlehem, saying, 'Where you go, I will go.' This story reminds us that faithfulness sometimes means standing by those we love, even when life is tumultuous. Christ exemplified this by standing faithfully with us in our troubles, offering grace and strength.
