Introduction

When we face uncertain days, they can be difficult and test our faith.
When someone you love as a minister is called elsewhere, we are prone to wonder, “What is God doing?” or “What will He do?” I have found that as the Lord leads someone away from a ministry, he leads another to that ministry that he has been preparing for a long time.
The first thing I need to acknowledge is that our interim team has done an excellent job. Nate, Trish, and Donna have kept our team together.
I believe the Lord has led us to someone.
We have been on a search for eight months, and we had many great candidates apply. And yet, the one that God led us to was one of our own!
The longer I am in ministry, the more often this is the case.
I think about David, who God was cultivating for years to be the king of Israel before he ever knew it. Goliath was not the hardest being that David had to slay with a sling. He had already killed a lion and a bear.
I am thankful for Kendra’s varied experience in missions, education, and child safety. Those are qualities that serve well in Children’s Ministry. I am also thankful for her vision for the ministry and the new and fresh ideas that she brings to the table. I am also thankful that we all know her consistency in the role that God has placed her.
But most of all, I want you to hear, more than anything else tonight, her heart for this ministry.
