Jesus is the Key

Who is Jesus?
Philippians 2:6–11 ESV
6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
God
Servant
Likeness of Man
Human form
Humble servant
Obedient
Exalted
Name above all Names
Lord of Heaven and Earth
Commander of All things
No Christianity without Christ
No point with out Christ

Jesus is the Sacrifice

Do you ever think about the Power of the Sacrifice?
What was life like prior to Jesus on the Cross?
Prior to Jesus was the Jews —- Living in or under the Law
Upon Death they would go to a place to Wait
Many Jews believe “heaven” is a place where pain and anxiety no longer exist.
The Hebrew Bible speaks of the afterlife as a shady place called Sheol.
According to the Bible, the souls of the deceased go “down” to Sheol after the body dies.
A person can gain entrance into this utopian afterlife through righteous living, as well as repentance.
Many Jewish people believe they’ll be reunited with other deceased family members after death.
This reunion takes place in heaven, which gives even more incentive for members of the Jewish faith to live righteously and repent.
According to Jewish teachings, you don’t have to be Jewish to gain entrance to heaven.

Jesus is the Challenger

Jesus lived in a state of Challenge to culturally norms, obeying many and disregarding others
I would say that Jesus challenged religion.
Give me some examples of what Jesus would challenge today?
We are to honor Jesus alone,

Jesus is the Payment

Jesus paid the price that we couldn’t pay.
God had to appear as the payment, because only the Perfect Sacrifice could settle the debt.

Jesus is Lord

In todays age, we learn to challenge authority
We live in an age where we disrespect most or all authority in one way or the other

Jesus is the Present and Future

Too many people wait on Jesus
Jesus is present always
Acts 2:36 ESV
36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
