Translation

But when Jesus came into the region of Caesarea of the Philippi, He began asking His disciples, saying, “What do men say the Son of Man to be. But they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, but others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He says to them, “But you, who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” But Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are [you] Simon Bar-Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in the heavens, and whatever you loose on earth will have been loosed in heaven. Then H warned the disciples in order they do not say to them who is the Christ. From then Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and to suffer many from the elders and chief priests and scribes and to be killed and on the third day to rise. And Peter, taking Him aside began to rebuke him saying, “Mercy to you Lord. This will never be.” But turning, He said to Peter, “Get behind Me Satan. You are a stumbling block to Me, because no thought of God, but that of men.” Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow after Me, for whosoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whosoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul. Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man is about to come in the glory of His Father with His angels. and then He will give each according to his activity. Amen I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death until the same have seen the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.
