Judah's covenantal relationship with God is in meltdown, in Jeremiah's opening sermon God brings his charges against his unfaithful bride. The verdict is clear, the only just course of action is for God to divorce Judah for her infidelity, yet God promises to bring her back to himself. How can he do this and remain just and not pollute the whole of creation?
