"And he said, Blessed [be] the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I [being] in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren."

The servant of Abraham travelled 500 miles by camel to find a wife for Isaac. She had to be a relative and willing to go back with him without seeing her prospective husband. This servant didn't have a clue. He just asked God to bring the right one to the well and water his camels. When Rebekah came and said the words that corresponded to the servants prayer request, he bowed down his head and worshiped the Lord.
His praise was that God had not forsaken mercy and truth. I understand how he would have sensed the mercy of God in this. As for the truth of God, it is a little harder to discern.
Perhaps it was that God was the one who originally commanded the Hebrew people to not intermarry. While this command had not yet been codified, Abraham seemed to have known the heart of God. In verse 3, he told the servant, "And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell..."
The Canaanites were not believers. It would draw Issac away from God should he marry one of them. This was the truth of God. A wife of his own people had to be found, in compliance with God's truth. When Rebekah was made known to the servant, he saw God supporting the truth, not forsaking it. No wonder he bowed his head and worshiped.
How is Jesus Christ revealing Himself to me in this passage? The larger principle is that God is a God of truth and reveals Himself as truth... Jesus is the truth of God personified. In a narrower sense, one that I can apply specifically, God keeps His committment to His own character. That is, if there is an issue in my life that requires the intervention of God, I can depend upon Him to intervene according to truth.
What has He shown me that my response ought to be? When I pray, I need to seek the truth of God in the situation and pray according to that truth. When He answers prayer by acting in truth toward me, I too will bow down and worship.
