Guarded through Faith
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,
5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Salvation: (Olive Tree Enhanced Strong's Dictionary) future salvation, the sum of benefits and blessings which the Christians, redeemed from all earthly ills, will enjoy after the visible return of Christ from heaven in the consummated and eternal kingdom of God. - Fourfold salvation: saved from the penalty, power, presence and most importantly the pleasure of sin.

We read ROMANS 8:12-17, two Sundays ago.
14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
1 Peter–Jude (King James Version) A. Know that Believers Are the Chosen of God, 1:1–2
The only kind of faith that really saves a person is the kind of faith that is obedient, that diligently seeks God. Believing faith is obedient faith. A person who really believes in Christ, who really trusts the blood of Christ to cover his transgressions, obeys Christ. This is exactly what Scripture says.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
9 And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,
Remember What 1 Peter 1:2 said
2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you.
Why Obedience?
Because God knows and understands life. God created and made life; therefore, He knows exactly how life has to be lived in order to get the most out of it.
33 Whoever receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true.
34 For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure.
35 The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.
36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
We read Ephesians 2:8-10, Last
5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Guard: (Olive Tree Enhanced Strong's Dictionary) to guard, protect by a military guard, either to prevent hostile invasion, or to keep the inhabitants of a besieged city from flight
God’s power does not work apart from the personal faith of those being guarded, but through their faith.

God’s power with your faith in Him secures you the believer!
Do you have the faith in God’s power to protect your salvation.
I have complete confidence (Faith) that God has all power to keep me unto His salvation!
33 They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?”
34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.
35 The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever.
36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
37 I know that you are offspring of Abraham; yet you seek to kill me because my word finds no place in you.
38 I speak of what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard from your father.”
Truth: (Olive Tree Enhanced Strong's Dictionary) the truth as taught in the Christian religion, respecting God and the execution of his purposes through Christ, and respecting the duties of man, opposing alike to the superstitions of the Gentiles and the inventions of the Jews, and the corrupt opinions and precepts of false teachers even among Christians
As we have finished Verses 1:5 here is a list of scriptures that we have studied to understand (dig deeper) the intro to 1 Peter
Acts 2:22-24,1 Thessalonians 4:1-8, Romans 6:14-19, Titus 3:1-8, Ephesians 2:1-10, Matthew 5:7, Luke 6:35, Luke 1:66-79, 2 Timothy 4:6-8, Romans 8:12-25, Hebrews 5:9, 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5, Hebrews 11:6, John 3:33-36, John 8:33-38
6 [You should] be exceedingly glad on this account, though now for a little while you may be distressed by trials and suffer temptations,
7 So that [the genuineness] of your faith may be tested, [your faith] which is infinitely more precious than the perishable gold which is tested and purified by fire. [This proving of your faith is intended] to redound to [your] praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) is revealed.
8 Without having seen Him, you love Him; though you do not [even] now see Him, you believe in Him and exult and thrill with inexpressible and glorious (triumphant, heavenly) joy.
9 [At the same time] you receive the result (outcome, consummation) of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,
3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.
4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
