The Results of Righteousness

Settings of trouble: falling, needing deliverance, being taken captive. 

v. 5 | Righteousness should be maintained

Blameless maintains (keeps) straight based on their righteousness. 

v. 6 and 8| Righteousness delivers from less than ideal situations.

Deliverance. 

v. 9 | Deliverance comes by way of knowledge. 

It is a knowledge of what that delivers the righteous. Right living and salvation. 

v. 10 | Righteous living is cause for rejoicing

Funerals. 

v. 11 | The community (city) is lifted up when the blessing of righteousness reaches their gates. 

The Wicked

v. 5 | The wicked fall

Fall into what? 

v. 6 | To act with deceit is to be taken by lust/greed

v. 7|  There is no hope for those who live in a wicked way. 

Expectation of wealth. Eternal wealth. 

v. 9 | The mouth of the wicked is bad for those around him. 

v. 10 | There is rejoicing when the wicked are no longer present in a community. 

v. 11 | Eventually the words of those who do not live in a righteous way are overthrown.
