JUDAS
JUDAS
Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?”
PRAY/BE STILL
As we are coming into Easter season, it wouldn’t be a series about throwing shade if we didn’t mention the biggest betrayal in history.
Now when Jesus was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, a woman came up to him with an alabaster flask of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he reclined at table.
And when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? For this could have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor.”
PEOPLE THROWING SHADE ARE ALWAYS SELF-FOCUSED
Judas was not worried about the poor. Actually, Scripture tells us that he was in charge of the money that they gathered during Jesus’ ministry and would help himself to the money. So he would still the money and use it for his own personal gain.
But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me. For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.
Jesus knew the heart of Judas.
Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?” And they paid him thirty pieces of silver.
PEOPLE THROWING SHADE ALWAYS TURN WHEN THINGS AREN’T ABOUT THEM
The biggest part that I want you to remember out of this entire series if you have not caught anything is this:
THOSE WHO LIVE IN LINE WITH THE WILL OF GOD WILL ALWAYS END UP ON TOP
