Church announcement - Saved and Baptized
Life in a family
What people do is predetermined
What people do is chaotic

Big Idea: Life in the Spirit is what you need.

Nicodemus - Teacher from God - Truth
Being right is most important
Being right is winning

Believe Jesus - Having life in the Spirit is most important

Not your own family
Not your own truth
The truth we believe is not our own

Believe His witnesses

Not eye witnesses like a crime
But also not just character witnesses like he’s a really good guy
John the Baptist - He must increase. I must decrease.
The Father - through the works
through the Word
Ezekiel 36:24–27 ESV
24 I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land. 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. 26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
John 20:30–31 ESV
30 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
The witnesses back up the claim that life in the Spirit is most important
My own testimony

Witness to His life

What is life in the Spirit?
Doing things differently
Being part of the family of life
You couldn’t get here on your own
You love the one who adopted you
1 John 4:13–21 ESV
13 By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 19 We love because he first loved us. 20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
