Refining Reflections
Notes
Transcript
Search me, God, and know my heart;
Put me to the test and know my anxious thoughts;
And see if there is any hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.
Christians, and especially very active ones, should take time out frequently to search their souls to be sure of their motives. Many a solo is sung to show off; many a sermon is preached as an exhibition of talent; many a church is founded as a slap at some other church. Even missionary activity may become competitive, and soul winning may degenerate into a sort of brush-salesman project to satisfy the flesh. Do not forget, the Pharisees were great missionaries and would compass sea and land to make a convert.

PRAY
This is a time to turn our hearts to the Lord. A time for self reflection. A mirror reflects our physical appearance, but a spiritual reflection shows our true self. Our inner self.
Reflection of Self: Examine Your Heart
Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?
This verse challenges us to look honestly at ourselves and our spiritual well-being.
Take the time each day to reflect on yourself. Look into your heart and the real motives of what you are doing and why you are doing them.
Is it for You? Or is it for God?
Reflection of Grace: Remembering His Blessings
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
For His faithfulness is everlasting.
Reflecting on His goodness and the things He has done for you is important
