Psalm 133:1–3 (ESV)
1Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!
2It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes!
3It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.
Introduction
Introduction
In any area where there is unity there will be power, if one person alone has power THINK ABOUT when two or more get together.
it becomes a potency!
I will be preaching about “the power of a family altar”
What is a family altar?
What is a family altar?
A family altar, a designated time and place for family prayer and worship, is believed to be a powerful tool for spiritual growth, family unity, and protection against negative influences, fostering a strong foundation of faith and values.
Hebrews 10:24–25 (ESV)
24And let us consider how to stir up (Not natural, stimulate in spanish) one another to love and good works,
25not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
it is here where you set your priorities real clear.
The devil needs to know very clear what is your priority.
The devil has to flee when someone has the priorities very clear.

Some interpretations suggest the oil and dew imagery symbolizes the anointing of Aaron and the blessings that come from God's presence, which are enhanced by unity.
Elevation of Jerusalem 2575 ft
When David united the kingdom he made this poem.
David saw the blessings and the life generated by this unity.
it is the reason he put this metaphors together.
“blessing and everlasting life”
What are the benefits of the family altar?
What are the benefits of the family altar?
Spiritual Growth: It provides a structured way for families to learn about God, pray together, and grow in their faith.
Family Unity: The act of praying and worshipping together strengthens family bonds and creates a sense of shared purpose.
Protection: We believe that a family altar acts as a spiritual shield against negative influences and challenges.
Modeling Faith: Parents who practice a family altar model their faith for their children, teaching them the importance of prayer and worship.
Passing on Heritage: A family altar helps to pass down spiritual values and traditions to future generations.
Joshua 24:14–15 (ESV)
14“Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.
15And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
How to build a family Altar
How to build a family Altar
Set Aside Time: Choose a regular time each day or week for family prayer and worship (homes where i go i see altars for other gods).
Find a Space: Designate a specific area in your home for the family altar (why do you think it still says family room on the prints of your house?).
Incorporate Prayer and Worship:Engage in prayer, singing hymns, reading scripture, and other forms of worship.
Make it a Habit: Consistency is key to building a strong family altar.
Involve Everyone: Encourage all family members to participate in the family altar.
Pray for Specific Needs: Pray for each other, your family, and the world around you.
Model Faith: Live out your faith in your daily life, so that your children can see your commitment to God.
Be ready to protect it for life
Genesis 18:19 (ESV)
19For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what he has promised him.”
Application
Application
I am a product of a family altar, since my Grate Grand parents
We all want the results of a discipline, not everyone wants the commitment.
you can say like Joshua:
But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
The result of what is happening at home is what we see in statistics: Divorce, addictions, immorality, prison, gangs etc.. we need more family altars.
THERE IS POWER IN A FAMILY WHO BUILDS AN ALTAR AT HOME
Conclusion
Conclusion
Who would like to start a family altar?
Who is ready to brake a cicle of ignoring the power of a family altar?
We all want the blessings and the eternal life
You need to start modeling a new culture
some of you will say is too late for that, but its never too late, do the same, set a day aside and get together and make it a habit.
