10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth:
And the heavens are the work of thy hands.
26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure:
Yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment;
As a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
27 But thou art the same,
And thy years shall have no end.
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
6 For I am the Lord, I change not;
Therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Charles Spurgeon said, “The law is also set above human opinion, for this man says, ‘You may do that,’ and a second claims that he may do the other, but the law changes not according to man’s judgment and does not bend itself to the spirit of the age or the tastes of the period. It is the supreme judge, from whose infallible decision there is no appeal. Right is right though all condemn, and wrong is wrong though all approve.”
We live in a world of constant change:
Our health changes
Our appearance changes
Our families change
The economy changes
Our finances change
Our mental capabilities change
Our physical capabilities change
Politics change
People change
Even churches change whether it be for the good or for the bad
20 years ago, there were people in this room that aren’t here today…
There were people sitting in this room that are now in Heaven…
It’s almost a guarantee that 20 years from now there will be substantially different people in this room…
2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
In this changing world, we go through seasons of upheaval and times of uncertainty. People we once trusted turn against us. Plans we so carefully laid are turned upside down. That which we believe to be unchangeable suddenly shifts. Our health, relationships, finances, jobs—none of it is for certain.
Think of all the instabilities and inconsistencies of life:
Mankind is inconsistent (don’t put your trust in man)
8 It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in princes.
Money is unstable
5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not?
For riches certainly make themselves wings;
They fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
Relationships can be unstable
14 My kinsfolk have failed,
And my familiar friends have forgotten me.
The mind can be unstable
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Our health is unstable
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
Emotions are unstable or inconsistent
28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit
Is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
You either rule your emotions or you let your emotions rule you
In a world full of change, compromise and inconsistencies, we need a God who never changes…
Theologians would call this the Immutability of God…
1. God’s Salvation Never Changes
1. God’s Salvation Never Changes
2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
Before it was by faith through grace and it is still by faith through grace BECAUSE GOD CHANGES NOT!
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
Even though earthly finances fade away, the Heavenly sealing of the Holy Spirit as our Earnest will never fade away…
It will never not be enough for our eternity…
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
God does not change His mind and decide one day His blood atones for our sin and the next day it does not…
It did then and it does now…

6 For I am the Lord, I change not;
Therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
19 God is not a man, that he should lie;
Neither the son of man, that he should repent:
Hath he said, and shall he not do it?
Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Your friends may change, your family may change, you may change, but God never changes…
I got to see some family I haven’t seen in a long time yesterday at a wedding…
They have changed!
I can trust God because He is a God that never changes…

3. God’s Law Never Changes
3. God’s Law Never Changes
19 God is not a man, that he should lie;
Neither the son of man, that he should repent:
Hath he said, and shall he not do it?
Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
160 Thy word is true from the beginning:
And every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth:
But the word of our God shall stand for ever.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
God’s Word was perfectly inspired… We believed that before and we still believe that today…
Because I feel differently about something or want to justify my actions, does not change who God is or what His Word teaches…
If homosexuality was wrong from the beginning according to God’s Word, than it is wrong today…
If smoking, drinking and immorality was wrong from the beginning according to God’s Word, than it is still wrong today…
God’s Word is not a Rubix cube that shifts and changes based on how I twist it…
it is and always will be settled for eternity…

4. God’s Love Never Changes
4. God’s Love Never Changes
3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying,
Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love:…
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Love for people and things waxes and wanes through life based on the instabilities and inconsistencies in mankind…
However, God’s love never changes…
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
That love has never diminshed and never will diminish…
