Introduction

Abraham gives God a name, according to Genesis 22:14 “And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”” This name is Jehovah Jireh or God will provide. Let’s think about all the ways God provides in our life. Many of us have had those ram in the bush moments of sacrifice when we are walking up the proverbial hill of commandments that we don’t truly want to do. When we think of who God is and how much he’s provided for us, we can’t help but think about the providence of God.
Ephesians 1:11 “In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,”
The inheritance of God, God putting us in position according to his will and purpose is one of the most powerful things God can do for each and every one of us. I find it so powerful that there are even times that God provides for us and we do not even realize it. Even when we progress to the New Testament the idea of God is described from a place of providence. We see the that the providence of God is so powerful that even the unjust benefit from His power.
Matthew 5:45 “that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”
The care of God is one of the most vast acts of power on earth. The providence of nature as God causes the rain to fall on the vegetation. The vegetation that is food for the animals. The sun that provide light for plants to grow. The oxygen that He provides for man to breathe! God’s providence is one of the greatest shows of power we shall ever witness. As He operates within the balance of earth and eternity, we are thankful to have a God who provides.
