We gather here today to acknowledge and reflect on the life of Billy. His journey was not without hardship, and their presence in our lives was complex. Yet, in remembering them, we recognize the full spectrum of human experience—the struggles, the triumphs, and the undeniable impact they had on those around them.

Billy faced challenges that shaped who they were. They were not perfect, as none of us are, but they lived authentically, unapologetically themselves. He pushed boundaries, questioned the status quo, and left a mark—sometimes in difficult ways, but always in a way that made others think, grow, and learn.

Though his path was not always easy, there were moments of laughter, moments of strength, and moments of undeniable connection. Even in hardship, they were a force—someone who could not be ignored, someone who made an impact in their own way. His life was real, raw, and filled with lessons, and for that, we can choose to remember them with honesty and with the understanding that every person carries their own battles.

Billy did not necessarily believe in the divine, but he believed in what he could see and feel. He believed in the tangible, in the moments that mattered. His legacy lives on through their family—two daughters, his son, and two grandchildren—who carry forward pieces of who they were. In them, we see the continuation of their story, the echoes of their presence, and the opportunity to build upon what came before.

If you are a believer in the Most High, allow your faith to sustain you. And just know that grief means that there is love there—a love that does not fade, even in loss.
