Example: Nehemiah 4
Point: Suffering for Christ’s sake is a mark of true discipleship and a source of eternal blessing.
Illustration: The apostles rejoiced after being beaten for preaching Jesus (Acts 5:41).
Application: Embrace persecution as an opportunity to glorify God and demonstrate your faithfulness.
Rejoice and Leap for Joy When You are Persecuted
Count it all joy to suffer for Christ.
Great is your reward in Heaven.
Point: Joy in persecution comes from understanding that our reward is in heaven.
Illustration: Paul and Silas singing hymns in prison despite their suffering (Acts 16:25).
Application: Respond to rejection with joy, knowing that God’s favor outweighs man’s disapproval.
Heap Up Coals of Fire on Their Head
21 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; 22 For so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the Lord will reward you.
Don’t give place to the devil.
Overcome evil with good.
