Acts 3 story Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple. 3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. 4 And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” 5 And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. 6 But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” 7 And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. 8 And leaping up, he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.

My Story:

Mormon and not being able to reach god
Left the Mormon church for Christianity but business was my god
I built an image of a God that only loved me if I provided value
I spent 2 years going to church, paying tithing, serving in ministry’s not knowing my legs were not working
I found out I couldn’t believe I was beloved by God (what was all the theology for)
By the grace of God he didn’t leave me to my own distraction, he called out to me and asked me to do a 7 day fast of everything, work food, everything. And he gave me a promise
Days go by and nothing happens then speak of 6th day experience
Nothing was the same after, I would go speak to this person for hours a day, he would reviel things to me that were beyond my understanding
Story of my mom coming to faith
Story of middle school changing
Story of speaking to situations (Gabo)
I thought what I needed was more accomplishments (this was my alms) but I needed the spirit of the Lord in me, around me, upon me.
And just like peter said to the man, what I have I wish to give unto you. So I want to teach 4 things that if you follow can see him move as I have

Unrepentance

Isaiah 59:1–2 (ESV)

"Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear."

Acts 3:19 (ESV) (connects beautifully to your core text)

"Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord..."

Unforgiveness

Matthew 6:14-15 (NIV): “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
Mark 11:25 (NLT): “But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against…”

Stop seeing him as a distant God

Matthew 1:23 (ESV): “They shall call his name Immanuel (which means, God with us).”
Romans 8:15 (NLT): “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children.”

Seek Him

Jeremiah 29:13 (ESV): “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”
Luke 11:9–10 (NIV): “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened…”

Galatians 5:25 (NIV): “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”

we move with him, who wants legs
