1 In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach
2 until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.
3 After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.
4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.
5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
6 So when they met together, they asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Today we'll explore what it means to walk in spiritual power - not through our own strength, but through the magnificent power of the Holy Spirit working in us.
1. The Source of Our Spiritual Power
1. The Source of Our Spiritual Power
The power we're talking about today isn't human power - it's divine power, flowing directly from God Himself.
A. Connected to the Divine Source
A. Connected to the Divine Source
John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
When we stay connected to Jesus, His power flows through us naturally and effortlessly.
B. Empowered by the Holy Spirit

Zechariah 4:6 “6 So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.”
The Holy Spirit is our helper, our guide, and the source of our spiritual strength.

A. Through Prayer and Faith
A. Through Prayer and Faith
Mark 11:24 “24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Prayer isn't just talking to God - it's connecting with His power and allowing it to flow through us.
B. Through Love and Service
B. Through Love and Service
John 13:35 “35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.””
True spiritual power is demonstrated through loving service to others.

A. Standing Firm in Spiritual Warfare
A. Standing Firm in Spiritual Warfare
Ephesians 6:12 “12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
We have been given authority to overcome every spiritual obstacle.
B. Walking in Victory
B. Walking in Victory
Romans 8:37 “37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
Through Christ, we don't just survive - we thrive and overcome.
When navigating public life, especially in divisive or hostile environments, cultivate a heartbeat of compassion. Carry scripture on your phone or in your mind to encourage you as you speak with others. When confronted with differing opinions, rather than arguing, listen actively and respond with kindness. Make it a goal to genuinely understand opposing views—this practice will empower you to speak Truth with love. Create opportunities to connect spiritually with your neighbors.
Walking in spiritual power isn't about our own strength - it's about allowing God's power to work through us. As we stay connected to Him, serve others in love, and stand firm in faith, His power will be manifested in and through our lives.
“Lord, we thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit. Help us to walk daily in Your power, not relying on our own strength but on Your mighty presence in our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.”
