šŸ”¹ Black Panther reference – T’Challa vs. Killmonger:
Killmonger was not just a villain; he was a broken man.
His father was killed, he was abandoned, and his heartbreak turned into rage.
He let his pain define him instead of allowing healing.
N'Jobu hoped his son, Erik (Killmonger), would use Wakanda's advanced technology to liberate oppressed people worldwide. He aimed to empower marginalized communities by sharing Wakanda's resources. Tragically, N'Jobu's death left Erik to pursue this vision alone, shaping his path toward challenging global oppression.

Transitional Point : Killmonger let his heartbreak define him, shaping his entire life. And if we’re honest, we do the same. Maybe we don’t pick up a sword and start a war, but we build walls, we lash out, or we withdraw.

Question: Have you ever experienced a heartbreak that changed you?"

Heartbreak that is ignored today will deal with you tomorrow

Evil Chris During our separation
one the promises i made to myself is that i would have a better marriage then parents did
and how idefined that was by lasting longer
and when that didnt happen i was heart broken not just because the seperation, but cuz of the promise that i had made to myself in my own brokenness
because of this heartbreak i was going through i became so impatient and numb
my mouth got real loose
i stopped cooking
i was literally becoming someone that i didn’t know.
This is what unaddressed and unhealed heartbreak does to us
it leads will us down paths of bitterness, isolation, or even destruction.
Main Point : "Unhealed heartbreak has the power to transform us into something we were never meant to be
You were never meant to carry that heart by yourself
"Pain has a way of shaping us. And if we’re not careful, it can turn us into someone we never intended to be.
Today, we’re looking at a man who was mighty on the outside but broken on the inside—Samson."
Intro Samson
What was his Nazariate Vow
No Wine, Dead Bodies, No hair cut
in exchange when the spirit of the lord would come upon him he would receives super natural strength

Samson’s First Heartbreak (Judges 14-15)

4 things happen to him before delalah
His wife betrays him during the riddle challenge.
The Philistines give her away to another man (Judges 14:20).
Later, she and her father are murdered by the Philistines (Judges 15:6).
he isolates himself
šŸ’¬ "Samson’s trust was shattered. The very person he thought would stand by him was given to another man. And that pain fueled his anger.

PAUSE

But before we judge Samson, we have to ask ourselves—how do we react to heartbreak?"
šŸ’” Samson is a violent, arrogant man—but he’s also deeply wounded.
He isolates himself.
He lashes out in anger, killing Philistines.
We don’t see him surrounded by friends or family—he’s alone.
šŸ“– Point: Be careful who you judge, because you have no idea what got them to where they are.
beware of the time gap
God is committed to saving his people
Sampsons behavior is a response to heart break
He is a man violent arogant prideful but also hurting
I don’t see friend, a barley see peers or family

The Danger of Ignoring Heartbreak (Judges 16:1-4) (8 min)

šŸ”¹ Samson doesn’t heal—he copes.
Instead of grieving, he sleeps with a prostitute (Judges 16:1).
He is looking for comfort in all the wrong places.
This leads him to Delilah, a woman who would ultimately betray him.
šŸ”¹ The Pattern of Destruction
Delilah is bribed by the Philistines to find his weakness.
He lies to her three times, but he stays with her.
Why would a strong man keep playing with fire?
Because his heartbreak left him numb.
He was most likly in denile
šŸ’” When you ignore your wounds, you allow the enemy to manipulate you.

15Ā And she said to him, ā€œHow can you say, ā€˜I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and you have not told me where your great strength lies.ā€ 16Ā And when she pressed him hard with her words day after day, and urged him, his soul was vexed to death. 17Ā And he told her all his heart, and said to her, ā€œA razor has never come upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If my head is shaved, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak and be like any other man.ā€

18Ā When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called the lords of the Philistines, saying, ā€œCome up again, for he has told me all his heart.ā€ Then the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hands. 19Ā She made him sleep on her knees. And she called a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to torment him, and his strength left him. 20

He finally gives in
The Lord left him (Judges 16:20).

When Heartbreak Leads to Surrender (Judges 16:22-30) (5 min)

šŸ”¹ But God wasn’t done with Samson.
His hair began to grow again (symbolizing renewal).
His final prayer was different—not prideful, but humble.
ā€œSovereign Lord, remember me. Please, God, strengthen me just once more.ā€ (Judges 16:28)
In his final act, he destroyed more Philistines than in his entire life.
When i looked at this there a part of me that asked the question. Did God benifit from samsons brokeness?
šŸ’” God is committed to saving His people—even through broken people.

Application: How Do We Handle Our Heartbreak? (5 min)

transitional point :Every Heartbreak is an opportunity to be smothered in the arms of God
šŸ”¹ 1. Identify Your Wounds
What emotional scars have you left untreated?
People often bury pain for years. By identifying those wounds, people can start the healing process.
What pain have you ignored?
God wont heal what you refuse to reveal
šŸ”¹ 2. Stop Coping & Start Healing
Samson self-medicated through violence, sex, and pride.
Where do you run when your hurt, how do you deal with good days and bad days
run to your father
God calls us to bring our pain to Him (Psalm 147:3).

He heals the brokenhearted

and binds up their wounds.

what heals?
time with jesus
community
counseling
fasting & Abstance
laughter
Crying before the lord
doing things that joy
šŸ”¹ 3. Don’t Mistake God’s Grace for His Approval
Just because God hasn’t stopped you doesn’t mean He approves.
The hair cut was the last straw
Lion, DOnkey
Wedding
lust
the sins no one see
you can id your sin from people but you cant hide it from God
Repent before the heartbreak consumes you.
šŸ”¹ 4. Surrender to God
Samson’s greatest victory came when he finally gave everything to God.
What would happen if you surrendered your heartbreak today?

Closing Challenge & Prayer (2 min)

šŸ’¬ "You can carry it, or you can surrender it—but you can’t do both."
Some of you have been carrying wounds for years.
Today is the day to let God heal you.
šŸ™ Prayer: Lord, I give you my wounds, my pain, and my past. Heal me, and use my life for Your glory. Amen.
