1. Acts 22:1-23:11
a. BIG – Following Paul’s example, we should live for Jesus boldly.
b. BIG – Following Jesus means we might suffer.
c. BIG – We are called to speak boldly and to love all, even those who persecute us.
i. Speak boldly with humility (22:1-21)
1. Paul boldly proclaims His testimony even though it could be seen as embarrassing. He shares his faults and mistakes knowing that it makes what Jesus has done in his life look more powerful.
ii. Speak the truth, walk by faith (v. 22-30)
1. Paul never sought persecution, but he also never backed away from it when faced with it. He simply spoke the truth in love and trusted Jesus.
iii. Be clever, yet gentle (23:1-11)
1. Paul was able to read the room. He recognized that he would not help his position by insulting the high priest, but he also recognized the rift between the Pharisees and Sadducees and allowed their conflict to be a distraction from his trial. This connects clearly with Matthew 10:16-18.
