**Challenges**
*Loneliness** – There can be moments of longing for companionship or feeling out of place in a world that often prioritizes marriage and relationships.
**Temptation** – Without the structure of a marriage covenant, staying pure in thoughts and actions can sometimes be a struggle.
**Pressure from Society & Church** – Friends, family, or church communities might unintentionally make singleness feel like a waiting period rather than a calling or season of purpose.
**Uncertainty About the Future** – Questions about whether marriage is in God’s plan and how to prepare for it can weigh on a single person’s heart.
**Triumphs**
**Undivided Devotion to Christ** – Singleness provides an opportunity to serve God wholeheartedly, without the responsibilities of marriage and parenting (1 Corinthians 7:32–35 “I want you to be without concerns. The unmarried man is concerned about the things of the Lord—how he may please the Lord. But the married man is concerned about the things of the world—how he may please his wife—and his interests are divided. The unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the things of the Lord, so that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But the married woman is concerned about the things of the world—how she may please her husband. I am saying this for your own benefit, not to put a restraint on you, but to promote what is proper and so that you may be devoted to the Lord without distraction.”
**Freedom & Flexibility** – Singles often have more time and flexibility to pursue ministry, missions, and deep personal growth in their faith.
**Stronger Community & Friendships** – Singleness can foster deeper relationships with a variety of people and build strong spiritual friendships.
**Identity in Christ** – Learning to be fully satisfied in Christ, rather than seeking completion in another person, is a profound spiritual victory.
Would you say any of these resonate with you, or are there particular challenges or triumphs you’ve experienced in your journey?
