How many of us in this room have made a mistake?
How many of us in this room have done something that we regret doing?
How many of us in this room you don’t have to raise your hand feel that if people saw everything we’ve ever done that they wouldn’t like us anymore?
I’m curious to know how many of us in this room and don’t answer
How many of us in this room put on a mask and pretend to be OK every Sunday
I’m curious to know how many of us in this room Hide certain things about our life. We hide the things that we’ve done that we’re as ashamed of. We hide our struggles because we’re afraid
We are afraid that people will look at us differently
We are afraid that if people really knew who we were They Wouldn’t like us anymore… That they would leave us…
Growing up, I genuinely believed that if people knew who Zac really was knew what Zac really struggled with that they would turn running
I grew up that way… And at times I still struggle with that…
But tonight I want you to understand something I don’t fully know you
I might know about you
I might know a lot of things that you like I might know your story a little bit
But truly, I don’t know you… I only know what you tell me… I only know what you let me see
But the reality is there is a God there is a king. There is Someone named Jesus who knows you intimately
in Matthew 10:29-31, It says that God even knows every single hair on your head knows the number.
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.
30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
He knows the name of every star. He is intimately involved in this world.
He knows you… He knows your loves your likes your dislikes
And he knows your sin… He knows the things that you struggle with
He knows the temptation that you deal with
He knows you deeply and understands every time you have done something wrong
He knows every mistake you’ve ever made every thought you’ve ever had and yet…
He still loves you…
He still desires to have a relationship with you
5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—
And we have that relationship by putting our faith and trust in Jesus
If we are in this room and we have not given our life to Jesus, it’s very straightforward
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Giving our life to Jesus is going one way and changing our mind to begin the process of going the other way
Go from chasing after sin to chasing after Christ.
The reality is that once we give our life to Jesus, we are sealed we are given salvation.
6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
