2 Samuel 7:3
2 Samuel 7:3
“And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee.”
v.1 - The Lord gave David rest from his enemies.
He had been fighting since Goliath.
He had been on the battlefield, traveling, and dealing with taking over the kingdom.
v.2 - David expresses concern that the Ark of God was in a temporary place and should be in a house of cedar.
v.3 - Nathan tells David the worst advice ever: “do all that is in thine heart”
Jeremiah 17:9-10
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
The follow up to that is “the LORD is with thee” which was not true for the building project David had in mind.
