The Best Gifts
1) These are the Gifts of THE HOLY SPIRIT.

One Body, Many members.
Many members, one body.
One Spirit, one body.
One Spirit, many Members.
One Holy Spirit.
He does not fight with Himself.
One Body.
We should not be fighting with ourselves.
Many Members.......... We should not be fighting within ourselves.
It is a serious matter.
In spite of all the problems within the Corinthian Church, the gifts were flowing.
Look at chapter 1
Notice first, what Paul was thankful for.
The Grace of God.
The Grace enriched them in everything.
πλουτίζωb: to cause someone to have an abundance of that which is of value or worth—‘to make rich in, to cause to have an abundance of.’
ἐν παντὶ ἐπλουτίσθητε ‘you have become rich in all things’ 1 Cor 1:5.
In 1 Cor 1:5 the final phrase, ἐν παντὶ λόγῳ καὶ πάσῃ γνώσει, indicates that the abundance refers to both the quantity of messages and the knowledge.
This is not a teaching to the Corinthian Church on how to flow in the gifts.
Grace is flowing.
The Gifts are operating, so God is obviously pleased.
Right?
Does Anointing mean God is pleased?
Not always.
Sometimes it just means He is Merciful.
Last week: Grieving the Holy Spirit.
Take a close look at the Church in Corinth.
You have envy, strife, and divisions, but the gifts are flowing.
Wasn't our service great?
You are sinning worse than the world.
Sinners don't even sin this bad.
You are suing one another.
and the World is laughing.
One more.
This is not an endorsement to sin.
This is not an grace message where you can do what ever you want to do.
This is a clear picture of how much the Holy Spirit wants to manifest Himself on behalf of His people.
This is a clear picture of how much He wants his Church to be working together.
Now we look at the Gifts He is so ready to give.
The simplest way to describe these nine gifts it that three of them say something, three of them do something and three of them reveal something.
1) Prophecy
2) Divers Kinds of Tongues
3) Interpretation of Tongues
1)The Gift of Faith 2) The Working of Miracles 3) The Gifts of Healings
1) The Word of Wisdom 2) The Word of Knowledge 3) Discerning of Spirits
What is the Best Gift?
Depends on the situation.
Look at an example for each of the 3 groups.
This is an example of Prophecy: A person is speaking on behalf of HEAVEN.
It usually foretells something.
Once it was released from Heaven, the prophecy becomes the procession of the person targeted.
Verse 12.
As the person giving the Utterance Gift, It is not up to an individual to make a word come to pass.
The person receiving the word, must judge it.(
explain) Verse 13, It confirms something.
Thus says the Lord.

If I were the Holy Spirit, I would have released the Gifts of Healings or maybe the gift of Faith, maybe even the working of miracles.
BUT I WASN'T THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Read through.
The Holy Spirit knew something I didn't.
They didn't need the gifts of healings.
They didn't need the Gift of Faith.
They had already received healing by their faith.
I didn't know that.
None of us knew that.
Heaven knew.
All they needed from me, was a fresh flow of the declaration of Heaven.
(Prophecy) Anything else would have confused the moment.
Just a couple of months later.

What effect should prophecy, tongues and interpretation have on an individual?

Stir up the joy.)
WHAT WAS THE BEST GIFT?
The one needed at the moment.
The Working of Miracles: How would Prophecy have worked out in this situation?
How about the word of knowledge?
"Thus says the Lord.
Your son died from poison mushrooms."
The only way that would have benefited her was if they were serving the mushrooms at the wake.
How about gifts of healings?

First we look at the word translated miracle.
