LIBERTY: SUNDAY 13 April 2025 SERMON

Isaiah 61:1-2 - The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;  

INTRODUCTION TO LIBERTY

(scripture context) LIBERTY (kjv) means FREEDOM (esv) in the SPIRIT

2 Corinthians 3:17 (ESV) 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Your ‘ABSOLUTE FREEDOM’ is found in the Spirit

To be liberated is power to Liberate others - Unfreed person can’t free others

‘he hath sent me’: When liberated SAY it - Holy Spirit DOES it

(Ezekiel in dry bones valley )- Ezekiel 37:4–5 (ESV) 4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.

No better freedom than being ACCEPTED by the Lord (beyond others looking down on you, doubting you, rejecting you ....)

A: PROTECTING YOUR FREEDOM

First, allow Christ to give you His freedom (don’t seek freedom outside Christ)Psalm 68:19 (KJV 1900) Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loadeth us with benefits, Even the God of our salvation. Selah.

Galatians 5:13 (ESV) For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Your FREEDOM must conquer opportunities of the flesh

FREEDOM is not only about you - BUT to free OTHERS too

Christ Freedom must not be used to enslave others 2 Peter 2:19 (ESV) They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.

Never ‘abuse’ your ‘salvation’ freedom to suppress others (including those who has not yet received salvation)

C: CONCLUSION:

RECAP: Anointing is PEACEFUL & TEACHABLE spirit that FREE you to know ALL THINGS

1 John 2:27 “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.”

Anointing gives you knowledge to STAND not to be ANXIOUS

Anointing is given to FREE you - therefore, Reject slavery thoughts

Keep your FREEDOM by standing FIRM

Galatians 5:1 (ESV) For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Evil THOUGHTS undermines Holy Spirit anointing to ENSLAVE you
