TGP Family…

Glad to be back

How are you? It’s good to be back!
Three weeks ago I had a nasty bike crash training for my race in August.
I broke 5 bones in the shoulder area…
The first two weeks of my recovery we’re pretty difficult but God made even the difficult times sweet as so many of you prayed for me, brought us meals, texted us, checked in on us.
Thank you to our Board who reached out to me to encourage me to take the appropriate amount of time to heal
Thank you to our Staff who STEPED up and kept the ball moving for us while we we’re not as available as normal.
We are so grateful for you and I am glad to have the most difficult days of my recovery behind me. I’ve been released to get back to my indoor trainer w/ my sling :)
So… The Drive Campaign and my Leadville story took a turn… but we’ll keep on driving forward as God allows us :)
Thank you agin from the BOTTOM OF OUR HEART.
Well… How many of you are ready for GO DAY!
Our A-team Declaration states…
We aspire to… Gather, Grow, Give, and Go together for Christ
Today we are focusing on GOING… some of you go daily… and others might not every have intentionally set out to GO for and with the father into their community. So, this is an exciting day
Invite Before Pastor Krista comes up, I want to encourage you to SHINE bright today
The title of my SHORT Devotion today is…

That They May See

In fact… as we look at the life of Jesus as our Model for living we see that the motivation of his heart was that THEY MAY SEE…
Jesus, what do you want people to see?
Do you want them to see you?
Do you want people to see how wonderful your Disciples are?
Do you want them to see how awesome the Church is?
Jesus would answers by saying… I want them to see - MY FATHER. I shine not for my fame or my gain - but for the Fathers Glory
The bible says in…
Matthew 5:16 (ESV)
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so THAT THEY MAY SEE your good works (AND DO WHAT? give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
What is our motivation for being a part of Serve Day?
There are a lot of good reasons to be a part of today.
I want to serve my community - it feels good to help others.
So my kids and family can see and experiance what its like to serve others.
So my community can see that the Church really carest
The support the efforts of my church.
These are all Good reasons…
But again… if we we’re to follow the heart of Jesus… our response would be much more simpler… and we would say…
I am here so that people may see my Father in Heaven
That the light he has given me…
The talent, ability, skills to shine…
When I shine…I will point people to the father.
So… Serve Day isn’t about us - its not about Making TGP famous -
It’s about letting our light shine that people may see the Father.
The last few weeks healing from my injury - saw so many different people in the community shining for the father.
As an innumerable amount of people reached out to shine the fathers Love down on me from… people like my wife and daughter… Nurses, Doctors, other Hospital Employees, the young man at the Laundry mat who saw my arm and asked me what happened and told me he would be praying for me… the cycling community that reached out to let me know they are praying… friends reached out via phone to pray with me and so many of you….. who shined Gods-love in a difficult time.
Can I tell you how good it is to see the fathers love in this way - to know he cares.. to know he sees me…
and today as you shine for the father - I want you to know that He sees you… yea you… your heart to shine for him
Jesus said in Matthew 10:42
Matthew 10:42 ESV
And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”
Jesus says I see you and I will bless you.
How many of you… are ready for him to shine today - shine into someone life
…Lets Pray…
