Sermon Outline – Week 3: One Savior – Jesus is the Only Way

Title: No Other Way Key Passage: John 14:6"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Big Idea: Salvation is found in Christ alone. Application: What does it mean to trust in Jesus as the only way to God?

I. Introduction: The Problem of Many Roads

Illustration: Imagine getting lost in a big city without a GPS. You ask for directions, but everyone gives you a different route. Some paths may seem right, but only one actually leads to your destination.
Quote – C.S. Lewis: “Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.”
Transition: In life, many people believe that all roads lead to God, but Jesus says something radically different—He is the only way.

II. Jesus is the Only Way

Verse: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."John 14:6

1. Jesus is The Way

Not a way, but the way. There is no salvation apart from Him (Acts 4:12).
All other paths—good works, religion, self-improvement—fall short.
Illustration: A bridge over a canyon. Without it, we cannot cross. Jesus is our only bridge to God.
Quote – Adrian Rogers: “Man only has two options: to be saved by grace or to be lost by sin. There is no third option.”

2. Jesus is The Truth

Truth isn’t subjective; it’s found in Christ.
The world offers false hope, but Jesus offers real salvation.
Illustration: A fake medicine might look real, but only the true one heals.
Quote – R.C. Sproul: “Truth is not determined by majority vote.”

3. Jesus is The Life

True life is found in Christ—eternal life begins the moment we believe.
Without Jesus, we remain spiritually dead in sin (Romans 6:23).
Illustration: A dead phone is useless until it’s plugged into the power source. Jesus is our source of life.
Quote – A.W. Tozer: “Jesus Christ came not to make bad people good but to make dead people live.”

III. Why Do We Need One Savior?

Sin Separates Us from God"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
Quote – J.I. Packer: "The gospel does not call us to trust Christ to make up the deficiency left by our own efforts, but rather to trust Him to do what we cannot do at all."
We Can’t Save Ourselves – Good deeds, religion, and self-improvement can’t fix our sin problem (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Jesus Paid the Price"Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God." (1 Peter 3:18)
Quote – Charles Spurgeon: “You stand before God as if you were Christ, because Christ stood before God as if He were you.”

IV. How Do We Trust in Jesus as the Only Way?

Believe in Who He Is – Jesus is not just a good teacher; He is the Son of God and the only Savior.
Quote – Jerry Vines: “Jesus didn’t say, ‘I’ll show you the way.’ He said, ‘I AM the way.’”
Follow Him Fully – Trusting Jesus means surrendering our lives, not just agreeing with Him.
Share the Truth Boldly – If Jesus is the only way, we have a responsibility to tell others.

V. Conclusion: A Call to Trust in Christ Alone

Challenge: Are you trusting Jesus alone, or are you relying on other "roads" to God?
Encouragement: Jesus is enough—He is the way, the truth, and the life!
Quote – C.S. Lewis: “Look for Christ and you will find Him, and with Him everything else thrown in.”
Prayer Response: Invite students to reflect and commit to following Jesus as their only Savior.
