Personal

To the hyper one, who always seemed to have knack for pushing things just far enough to get on everyones nerves. She never lost her patience with me. In fact, she was the one who encouraged me to embrace that part of myself by acting just as silly because she understood that silly is where joy lives. And somehow, long after life had trained most of it out of me, She held onto it. She would say, or do anything to see that joy in the eyes of the people that she loved.
She was fiercely loyal. if you were one of hers it didn’t matter if you were right or wrong. She would defend you to the end, and she made sure that everyone knew it. When I had finally managed to upset seemingly everyone around me she would scoop me up, hug me tight, and playfully yell at everyone to leave me alone. Then she always had a David honey, followed by some advice about what to do with myself to stay out of trouble. At least for a little while.
To know aunt Kim was to love her because the space that she created around herself was a place where you were safe to be yourself and laughter was her greatest gift and treasure. She didn’t hide this treasure away in a bank, or bury it in some secrete place. She gave it away and every turn to anyone who would share it with her. Its the piece of her that we carry with us, that we can share with each other and comfort each other with. The best thing about this treasure is, that no matter how much, or with who we share it. Our portion not only will never diminish, but it will multiply. Making us all the more richer for having done so. And, in doing we honor her and her memory.

Hope

Today is a day of deepest mourning as we say goodbye to one of this lifes most beautiful lights. There is a sadness that grips each & every one of us. But there is also a Hope. one that i know Aunt Kim held dear. That hope has a name, His name is Jesus. That hope is more than mere hope but to those who believe on & trust in Him is our Blessed assurance, and I would like to take a moment to share it with you.
John 11:35 “Jesus wept.” - Explain
This is him in whom we not only believe in, but put our trust in.
In him is truth, and he keeps his promises
John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” - Explain
He is peace living within us. Philippians 4:6–7 tells us to “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” - Explain
Though you may feel miles from a place of thanksgiving & peace. let me remind you that the word of the Lord says in 1 Thessalonians 4:16–18 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” And the verse I cling to with everything within me. The one that renews my strength every single time i read it. Revelation 21:3–4 “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
