Chapter 1

The Aposle Paul is writing this Letter to Timothy. And wrote it between 61AD when Paul got out of roman prison for the first time and before 64AD when Paul was inpresend again by Rome.

Who is Timothy. Timothy joined Paul on his missionary journey and we see that in Acts 16. Timothy was from area of Derbe and Lystra, modern day Turkey. His mother was a Jewish women who was a believer in jesus and he was as one well.

Timothey Joins Paul in Acts, but after the events of acts we see Paul sending timothy on his behave to churches.

Paul sent Timothy to the Christians in corinth and Paul says why he sends them.

1 Corinthians 6 16 Therefore I urge you to imitate me.17 This is why I have sent Timothy to you. He is my dearly loved and faithful child in the Lord. He will remind you about my ways in Christ Jesus, just as I teach everywhere in every church.

And we see in verse 3 Paul set him to Ephesus.

Simaler to Paul sending Timonty to Corinth He sent him to Ephesus. as it says to make sure the church was teaching the truth. Paul is writes to Timonty who is in ephasus as paul is eather on his way or is at Macedonia

Timothey will be the Bishop in Ephesus till his death 35 years later. reinforcing what a leader should be to Timothey and

We can learn if we are in ministry or are considering it. To look at what is requierd of us. but also if we are not we need to hold our leaders acountible to the standers.

Timothy was sent to stop False Doctrine. We should look to leaders who dont teach false doctrine. Is not compromised on the truth of Gods word. To many “churches” and “Pastors” have compromised on the word of God.

Timothy was sent to stop Myths/Fables aka things that are made up. Are Leaders should not make things up. so many church leaders will tell a story during a sermon. that peaches realy well and gets there message across. but its not true. we do not tell lies to promote gods word. You can uses someithing to ilistate a point but if its not a ture storry and you promote it as a factual event that truely happend and someone finds out its bogase. why should they lissen to anything you have to say.

Endless Genealogies, To the jewish culture genealioges were super inportent to them. we see this with mathews ghospel start with lomg genioligys becuse he was writting his ghospel to a jewish adiance and that was inportent to them. but the genilogy in matthew is not what paul is writting about to timothey. there was a reason why mathew had his genialoy. to prove he fullfuilled requeermnets of the missia. Paul is refuring to people resiting there familys geniaolys and it keeps going on and on and on and on… and the point is to see who can resite them the longist. They were ponitless.

False doctine, made up stuff and the pointless resiting of geniaolys all lead to speculations that were empty there was nothing there there was no substance. and in return was not about Gods plan aka the ghospel. wich is anyone who puts there trust in jesus will be saved.

We need to look for leaders who don't teach anything that leads that promote anything thats opposte or takes away from the ghopspel

The things described earlyer verses lead to furtless descustions or descutions that have no outcome. nothing comes out of them.

When we instruct our purpose is Love, a good conscine and a sinser faith.

Love what kind of love. In the greek there is 3 difent types of love and here paul uses agape love. and agape love is described here that comes from a pure hard. I dont have agape love to food i like but i do to family.

Agape love is cuncondianal self sacrifical love. its the love jesus says in John 15:13 No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends.

Thats the type of love that should be modivatiomnig our church leaders. Is there Goal self sacrificial love.

good conscience.

Sinser faith not a fake one. Not a super fital fake one but one thats genuily for the lord.

Teachers need to understand it says the law meaning they cant have a false understanding of Gods work spasificly the law but this aplys for all of scripure. are leaders need to know Gods world.

They did not understand the meaning of the law. the law is made to make us aware of our sin. and that we fall short of gods standers. thats how we use it legitimitly not to drive us into leaglisum.

we are supost to pursue gods stands

its ment for the unrighteous, lawless, rebellious, ungody sinful, unholy, irrevernt, thats all of use. we are unrighteous thats why we need God. we are the lawless, we brake his laws. we are the rebellious we rebeal agenst God. ungodly, sinful, unholy. to be holy or to be made holy means to be set apart. We are made holy by jesus finished work on the cross not anything we can do.

Paul says so in Ephesians 4-5

4 For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him. 5 He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,(to be holy thew Jesus)

as paul said the law is ment for and listed these things and we are all thses things listed. the law is for us to show we fall short of gods standers and we need jesus paid in full salvation on the cross to make us holy.

(9b-10) more is listed, the law is to show theres things are wrong.

murder, murder is the ending of a life unjustly there are times were it is unforintly necessary to end another persons life. self dense and capital punishment.

Why is murder inherently wrong? Every human is made in the image of god and has inarent vaule and to end there life without a just reason is ending someone that reflects gods image unjustly.

sexually immoral, Sexual imorality is going agenst the sexual morals of God. and God has clealy deived that sex is between one husband and one wife for life. so anything outside of that is Sexual immortality.

The Greek word for sexually immoral. is Pornois. you dont have to be a lingist to see what word in englist we derive from pronois . its were we get pornography from.

watching pornography is sexual immorality. you are ingaing in a sexual activity that's not between you and a spouse. This is problem not just in sosailty but amougst cristans as well. (insert stats)

I was atticted to pornogafy for 10 year from 12 to 22 and i help with a program at our church on sunday nights for people strugling with any adiction but the mojoity of people are there for pornogafy.

Before we contine on. if you are watching pornogafy its wrong and gods calling you tgo repent from it. But i am here for you to help. please if your strugling with it I am here with open arms. i have had multiple people now that have herd me say this and they did mot come to me and they all have said. “i wish i came to you sooner.”

homosexual activity, homosexual activity is wrong. its sexual imorilty becuse its sexual activity thats not between one man and one women.

Its the action that is sinful. not the temptation. jesus was tempted and never sinned. its the action and that is what Paul describes here. The greekword is arsen.okoit.ais CSB translates it as males who have sex with males or you could tanslate it as men who practice homosexuality, like the ESV. and its becuse. arsen.okoit.ais compound word make from other greek words.

arsen(male) and koitas(beding) to sleep with man-bedder. the action on a man sex with another man. homosexualty it dose mean pedophilia.

enslavers, someone who kidnapps someone and farces them to do labor. The bible is clear that chadle slavor forced labor is wrong and had the death penolty in the mosaic law. if you kinaddped someone you were put to death.

liars and perjurers, not telling the truth and ling under oath. awsome that paul list both out becuse you can cominyt perjury, by not lieing but just not telling the truth and that can be just as bad. not telling the truth is bad becuse God is truth and when you lie you are gpoing agenst what God stand for.

The law is for anything that is cortanie to the truth of the gospel. Gods standerds are to show what is not his standerd and the things that are not his standerds are not truth.

Its Jesus who appoints men to ministry. If someone is supost to be in ministry and is faithful its because jesus made it happen not us.

Paul was a blasphemer, persiuter and arrogant. He did there three things because ignorant in unbelief. What dose that mean? Ignorant is lacking knowledge or awareness. So Paul means he blasphemed, persiuted and was arrogant. becuse of his lack of knowledge and he lacked knowledge becuse he did not beleve.

Belevef in jesus we agin truth becuse jesus is the truth.

The Point of Jesus is to save sinners. thats the point. the point is to not make us wealthy(cash), or to get positions. The point was not to just heal/help people...He dose that when miricals are over enfisied it takes away that the point is Jesus saving us from our sins.

If Paul can not only be saved but be used so mightly by him. What have you done to were God cant use you.

There was some sort of proficey about Timothey Paul is telling him to remember. Timothy has herd it but paul is reminding him.

Sometimes we need to be reminded of what Jesus has promised. He is faithul and is good and has a plan for us.

Chapter 2

(1-8)

We are going to learn how to pray.

(1)

We all should pray more then we probably should.

we should pray for everyone not just serntent people. pray for all people that included people we don't like or people we don't want to pray for.

We need to pray for our leaders in government. weather we voted for them or not, or if we disagree with there policies we need to pray they have dignity and godliness. if leaders in goverment did those two things there contruys would be a better place.

God wants everyone “come to the knowledge of the truth.” the truth of what. Verses 5-6 paul says what that is

 The knowledge of the truth Is there is one God and jesus willing gave himself as a ransom to restore and unit God to Sinners.

So fallowing 3-6 God wants everyone to reserve the gift of Jesus payment on the cross for there sins and to restore that broken relationship between them and God.

God wants everyone to be saved. That dose not mean everyone will be saved. God Gave us free will and If you reject God with that free will, God is not going to force you to worship him.

God made us with free will so we can truly worship him. if we did not have free will are were antominton robots we could not feel and think. and we could not truly worship.

So will say God dose not want everyone to be saved but here in verse 6 jesus was a ransom for all. John 3:16 whoever beleves in him.

There is one mediator between God and mankind and that's Jesus. in Catholicism this is not true.

In Catholicism you can have the saints intersed for you. basicly they will pray(they say they dont pray but they do) but you can ask a saint to pray to god on your behave. That is something other then jesus being a mediator between God and man. thats a saint being a mediator.

for what was Paul apoined to teach? knowledge of the truth. Jesus died on the cross for there sins to restone the relationship between them and God. The good news, The ghospel.

Thats what are church leaders should be doing.

Therefore what? why is the Therefore there for? Becuse Paul is a teacher of the Ghospel. he wants every man to pray and be untied. we shoul do the same.
