Picked out to be picked on
Picked out to be picked on
John 6:36–38 “But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”
Picked out to be picked on
I don’t have any real points, but i would like to make an attempt to exhaust the thought on this particular topic. Picked out to be picked on. Christian doctrine has a phrase called typology. Typology in scripture and doctrine suggest parallels in the scarlet thread of salvation. Typology suggest that the way God acted in the past He will act in the future. God loves to repeat Himself, and why not repetition is the greatest way of teaching. I found that He will give His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers. Sometimes when God picks you out; you may feel as though you are being picked on.
The call and the anointing of God has suffering attached to it. Our testimonies are tied together with tears. My brothers and my sisters there is a praise in our pain, because God’s grace comes with a purpose.
April the 3rd 33 a.d. by many scholars is believed to be the actual day in which our Lord was crucified. There are other day, but this one checks all the boxes. My over active mind imagines that this was typology, and at the very least was on the mind of Dr. Martin Luther King jr. April the 3rd 1968 when he pinned the words *if I were standing at the beginning of time, with the possibility of general and panoramic view of the whole human history up to now, and the Almighty said to me, "Martin Luther King, which age would you like to live in?"
After passing by all the places that would arouse his curiosity, and reiterating that he wouldn’tstop there. Dr. King goes on to say
“ I would turn to the Almighty, and say, "If you allow me to live just a few years in the second half of the twentieth century, I will be happy." Now that's a strange statement to make, because the world is all messed up. The nation is sick. Trouble is in the land. Confusion all around. That's a strange statement. But I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough, can you see the stars. And I see God working in this period of the twentieth century in a away that men, in some strange way, are responding — something is happening in our world.
Dr. King would go on to talk about the ever changing world, and his hope and expectation for a brighter tomorrow. Surely a man of ebony hue, in his time, would understand the threat of the day. Yet uncommon courage in the face danger enshrouds God’s people. That's why the last part of this speech on April the 3rd 1968;
Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn't matter with me now. Because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. And I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.
In Genesis God was rejected by man, and we got the protoevangellum Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”
Then we see the seed being hunted in an attempt to thwart God's word from going forth. The first murder took place when Cain felt rejected and killed His brother Abel.
Abraham was old and so was his wife, so they doubted Gods promise. They decided to help him, and had Ishmael. Ishmael was the first born, nut was not the son of promise. He was rejected because the son of promise was Issac the second born.
Issac had two sons Jacob and Esau, but there’s a recurring theme here. The first born was rejected for the second. God even says Jacob have I loved and Esau have I hated.
Jacob had

Joseph was by the woman he loved, and he was rejected by his brother’s. He was picked out to be picked on. Genesis 50:20 “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” He taught us what forgivness looks like. Only God can forgive and forget.
As great as Joesph was, he was not the son of promise. Judah who was by the woman he rejected would be the line. The same Judah who said let's sell him because he didn't want to stand out, and he wanted to be accepted.......
the same Judah that offered his life for Benjamin’s, because his father couldn’t take it.
Judah would later have a descendant named Jesse who would have 7 sons, but I’m sure you know now the first born was not the seed of promise. He was rejected, and the seed of promise was David. David was picked out to be picked on. His brothers didn’t like him, and even picked on him. Yet David offered his life for the many when fighting Goliath.
A blessing delayed is not a blessing denied. Jacob worked for 20 years before he could return to his inheritance. It was 22 years from Joesph’s dream until its fruition. 80 years from the time Moses was born until He came back to redeem Gods people. Then another 40 years before he got to see the promised land: that’s around 500 hundred years from one promise to another promise.
God told Hosea to marry an adulterous woman, and gave specific names for His children.
Hosea had three children with his wife Gomer, whose names, Jezreel, Lo-Ruhamah, and Lo-Ammi, hold symbolic meaning reflecting God's relationship with Israel, including God's judgment and eventual restoration.
Here's a breakdown:
Jezreel: The first child, a son, was named Jezreel, which means "God sows" or "God scatters".
Lo-Ruhamah: The second child, a daughter, was named Lo-Ruhamah, meaning "not pitied" or "not loved".
Lo-Ammi: The third child, a son, was named Lo-Ammi, meaning "not my people".
The same Hosea who would prophesy that out of Egypt have I called my son.
Inter-testamental period or inter-gestational period?
After they had began to pillage the Tabernacle to pay tributeto Rome, 167 b.c. on December 25th the abomination of desolation taking place; a pig was sacrificed on the alter of God. Exactly 3 years later on December 25th 164 b.c. Judas of the Maccabean dynasty cleaned out the violaters from the city, and rode into the city. While entering in to restore worship on December 25th 164 b.c. THERE were chants of hosanna hosanna it’sthe return of the king. on December 25th worship was restored in the Tabernacle.
While Israel was waiting on another warrior King or Messiah God chose to Tabernacle among men as a servant.
The synoptics paint a picture of Him as the rightful heir to David’s throne, A miracle worker, a suffering servant. Yet in John we find His deity as the ancient of days awesome creator. John 1:1–3 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
Yet once again God was rejected.
John 6:36–38 “But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”
If you find yourself being rejected don’t get discouraged, because you’re in a good place. You’ve been picked out to be picked on…….
So you can be picked up by God.
