Confession of Faith
I am not moved by what I see or by what I feel.
I am moved by what I believe.
I believe the Word of God!
The victory is mine!
I have it now!
I can see it through the eyes of my faith!
In Jesus’ Name!
Introduction:
Church family, have you ever faced a moment that demanded a life-altering decision? Maybe it was in the middle of a health crisis… a broken relationship… a job loss… or a call to walk away from a toxic lifestyle. Today , we're surrounded by more choices than ever — political confusion, cultural pressure, technological distractions, and spiritual warfare.
But one truth still stands: God is calling His people to choose life.
He’s not surprised by our crossroads. He knows the end from the beginning. And like He did with Israel, God is giving us direction, restoration, and a promise — if we’ll follow Him fully. The world we live in is increasingly complex. But the message from God remains beautifully simple: Choose life.
Today , life throws at us the same dilemmas Israel faced thousands of years ago: will we follow God's way or go our own?
Deuteronomy 30 is Moses' final appeal to the Israelites before they entered the Promised Land — and it’s God’s appeal to us today.
God’s Love Gives Us the Power to Start Over
God’s Love Gives Us the Power to Start Over
3 that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you.
4 If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you.
5 Then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers.
6 And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.
In Verse 3
"That then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee..."
This was part of the final sermon from Moses Israel entered the Promised Land. He told them in advance: You will fail. You will mess up. You will walk away from God. But if you return… He will restore you.
Get this - This is a powerful picture of God’s love — I’m talking about a love that isn’t based on perfection, but on grace and repentance.
Charles Spurgeon wrote: “There is more mercy in Christ than sin in us.”
When Moses said God will turn back your captivity or will bring you back from captivity He was not just talking about spiritual . Not but economic, emotional, and social.
When Moses said God would Have compassion he is reminding you and me that God’s compassion is tender,God’s compassion is intimate, and God’s compassion is healing.
When Moses said God wold Gather thee – Listen No matter how far you or I have gone — God’s love is relentless in bringing his children home.
4 If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you.
The bible tells us T there’s no distance you can get from him that is too far for God’s mercy.
I Don’t care where you are or how far you have gone! This is important to know because many folks get stuck in their past
you can be divorced God still wants you
You can be battling and addiction - Go still wants you
You might think you’re to old or to young - God still wants you
Your family may be torn apart because family secrets, infidelity, racism, the pain of losing loved ones - God still wants that Family
✅ Now lean in - The truth from this scripture is simple: It’s not too late to start again. God doesn’t cancel people —God restores them.
remember The Prodigal Son in (Luke 15:20)
remember The Prodigal Son in (Luke 15:20)
20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.
Just like the father ran to the son — God runs to meet us when we turn back.
Peter after he denied Jesus
15 After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” Peter replied, “you know I love you.” “Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him.
16 Jesus repeated the question: “Simon son of John, do you love me?” “Yes, Lord,” Peter said, “you know I love you.” “Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said.
17 A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep.
Jesus didn’t fire Peter — He recommissioned him!
He told Peter to Feed My Sheep
Even after his failure, Peter was still God’s man for the mission.
Some of you may feel like you’ve drifted too far. But if you’re breathing, you’re not done. God’s love is reaching for you today. You don’t have to stay stuck. You can start over — right now.”
With all the chaos today “Some of you have shared that you feel scattered, you feel disconnected, you feel disqualified. But God wants to remind you His compassion will gather you. His love will restore you. Quit letting guilt keep you in a prison. Grab that grace - and Let grace be your passport of that prison
Man, God’s love is not limited by our past.
God’s compassion restores us, God’s compassion gathers us, and God’s compassion renews us.
Reminder - It’s never too late to choose life and begin again.
Real Blessings Begin with a Changed Heart
Real Blessings Begin with a Changed Heart
6 And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.
7 “Also the Lord your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you.
8 And you will again obey the voice of the Lord and do all His commandments which I command you today.
After promising restoration, God speaks through Moses to explain that true revival doesn’t begin with external changes, but with an internal transformation. God wants to "circumcise the heart" — to cut away anything that stands between me and you and intimate real love for Jesus
This heart change is not something we do by willpower. It is a spiritual surgery performed by God, This surgery prepares you and me to obey and walk in his blessing.
Matthew Henry said : “The heart must be changed. God will give them grace to love Him
I was reading a commentary from Dr Tony Evans and he said
“Circumcision was a sign of covenant. God wanted not just an outward sign, but an inward submission.”
Now lean In:
Obedience Follows Transformation
Obedience Follows Transformation
God is not after temporary behavior change — He wants permanent transformation.
The blessing is found in a heart that is soft, The blessing is found in a heart surrendered, and The blessing is found in a heart submitted.
8 And you will again obey the voice of the Lord and do all His commandments which I command you today.
This show us and tells me and you that true obedience is a result of true love — and real love for Jesus, Real love for God flows from a changed heart.
