Discussion Questions:

What does the world look for in a leader? How is that different from what God says in the Bible? (Read 1 Samuel 16:7; Titus 1:5-9)

What do you look for in a leader? What criteria or requirements do you look for in a pastor or elder? How do they compare to Paul’s expectations of elders in 1 Tim. 3:1-7?

What are the qualities that God desires for a leader in the church? How do they compare to the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23?

Why is character so important to God?

Why are the standards so high for those serving in leadership in the church?

How can you serve the Lord and His church here at Poolesville Baptist Church?

Have you considered serving the Lord in part-time or full-time ministry locally, regionally and globally? Why or why not? What is holding you back?
