At the same time, saith the Lord, Will I be the God of all the families of Israel, And they shall be my people. Thus saith the Lord, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; Even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest. The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: Therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew.
The word of God is the foundation of all we do at Christians United for Israel.
We support the Jewish state because it is our biblical responsibility.
1.Israel is… BIBLICAL
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Biblical Principle: You can tell your kids what to do because you created them!
In the same sense, God is our creator and as our creator, he decides!
Gen 12.1-3 - God set Abram apart and gave him a seven fold blessing.
Made a great nation, in the land I will show you
Bless you
Make your name great
You will be a blessing
Bless them that bless you
Curse them that curse you
Whole earth will be blessed because of you!
You may say: “I don’t curse Israel” - Look at in the NLT
I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”
One translation says: I will curse those who takes you lightly.
Gen 13.14-17 God gave Abram an eternal deed to the land and his decedents.
Look to the north, south, east and west… as far as you can see, it is yours!
Either the Bible is true or it is not…
The church did not replace Israel, we are a part of Israel!
God set the boarders in Gen 15.18-20 and sealed it in blood!
In Gen 17.7-8 it’s an everlasting possession!
Sometimes we fail to make obvious connections…
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
Jesus was a Jew! The Bible is a Jewish book written by Jewish men!
And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
Israel is Biblical! Not political!
As the creator of everything, IT ALL BELONGS TO GOD!
He made an everlasting covenant with Abram and we are a part of that!
2. Israel is… TRUTH
God’s word is absolute.
The core mission of Christians United for Israel is to make our members aware of the biblical truths concerning Israel and the Jewish people.
God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Gen 12:3 - The God who does not lie, says he will bless those that bless Israel and curse those that curse Israel.
Gen 17 - God put the mark of circumcision on his people, marking them as different, entering into an everlasting covenant with them.
Col1.11-12 teaches us that there is a circumcision that is made without hands, baptism!
God not only chose the land, he chose the people.
He also chose the city!
But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there;
Jerusalem is God’s chosen city and Israel is his chosen people!
Israel is and will always be proof of God’s integrity!
That does not mean that Israel always makes the right decisions…
In the Old Testament or today.
Sometimes it seems they get more wrong then right…
And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.
In 586 BCE Israel is dispersed among the Gentiles by the Babylonians when the Kingdom of Judah was conquered, exiled into slavery by Nebuchadnezzar.
Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good. For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up. And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the Lord: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.
God begins to gather the exiles back to the Promised Land - this would happen on multiple times.
All pointing to a day when they shall return to me with a whole heart!
Scatter, gather pattern until 70 AD when they were scatter across Europe some thought to never return!
Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
Something amazing happened after 2000 years of being scattered, langauge dead and no connection to the land
Israel is reborn on May 14th, 1948.
It took President Truman 11 minutes to recognize her sovereignty!
The world has fought this before 1948 and after 1948!
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; That the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
All through history, the enemies of Israel plot to destroy the nation and erase all memory of its history.
Today they chant “From the river to the sea, Palestine shall be free”.
GENEOCIDE!
It is critical that Christian Zionists, look at and believe the word of God and this irrefutable truth: Israel is the covenant homeland of the Jewish people decreed by the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and you and I.
3. Israel is… LIGHT
In 1948, Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion declared that the re-born state of Israel would be a beacon of light to the world, providing spiritual and moral guidance to the world.
They selected the Menorah as the official emblem of Israel from the Prophet Isaiah stating that Israel would be a “Light unto the nations”.
Is 42.6 - Israel is a light to the nations
Is49.6 - I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, That thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
Is60.2-3 - Darkness shall cover the earth, deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, His flory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light!
Zech8.23 - ten men from every langauge shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man and say, let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you!
The miracle of Israel is that such a small nation, the size of New Jersey, surrounded by enemies on all sides has become the bright spot of the Middle East!
260 miles long by 71 miles wide.
From Omaha to North Platte long.
From Omaha to Seward wide.
Freedom, generosity, courage - they have become a true blessing to the world.
A place of refuge, safety, prosperity
Israel is truly a tour y of hope in a world of darkness!
4. Israel is… RESILIENT
Throughout recorded history, the Jewish people have been demonized, denigrated and delegitimized.
From Pharaoh to Haman, to Hitler to Hamas and Hezbollah, people have tried to wipe Israel from the face of the earth - but I ask you a question…
Where are the biblical Egyptians?
Where is Haman?
What happened to Hitler?
I would not want to be Hamas or Hezmollah!
They are all gone BUT Israel and the people of Israel Live because they are resilient!
In the face of Pharaoh - 2-2.5 million Jews
Kill the boys - But they are still here.
In the face of Persia and Haman - 1.2-2 million Jews that Haman decided to kill. - But they are still here!
In the face of the Greeks and the Syrians - But they are still here!
Herod in Jesus’ day
Kill the boys… - but they are still here!
The Romans -
Killed over 1 million in the siege of Jerusalem alone with 97,000 taken as slaves.
2 million killed total - Lead to the diaspora, scattering of Jews accross the world - But they are still here!
Medieval Crusades - 10s of thousands of Jews killed by crusaders before they even reached the Holy Land!
Crusaders locked Jews in synagogues and burn them alive singing “Christ we adore thee”.
But they are still here!
Pogroms - Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland and Germany between 60-150,000 Jews were killed, others sent to camps, hundreds of synagogues destroyed, buisness destroyed.
But they are still here!
Spanish Inquisition - thousands were killed, tens of thousands displaced, tortured and imprisoned.
But they are still here!
Holocaust - 6 million Jews killed. Starved, shot, slave labor, death marches, gas chambers - by 1945 2/3rd of the Jewish population had been wiped out!
But they are still here!
With in 5 years the Jewish population will be back to pre WW2 levels!
Why? Because the are resilient!
On October 7th 2023, Hamas killed 1,200, kidnapping 251.
Fired 1,600 rockets into residential neighborhoods on the first day, flew gliders into kibutzi killing women, children in the most horrific ways imaginable.
I stood at the sight of the Nova Music festival and looked at the pictures of the 364 unarmed, partying collage aged kids were murdered by 3,500 Hama murderers.
But they are still here!
And he increased his people greatly; And made them stronger than their enemies.
Jewish concept of revenge that developed at Auschwitz - beat them by living and overcoming!
Thy people also shall be all righteous: They shall inherit the land for ever, The branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. A little one shall become a thousand, And a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in his time.
From the time of Joshua to the destruction of Jerusalem and the second temple, from the diaspora (di-asp-or-ra), the crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the Russian Pogroms, the Holocaust, to Hamas in the south and Hezbolah in the north.
Against all odds and the horrific events, all attempts to destroy the Jewish people have failed.
Because of God’s faithfulness, Israel is resilient!
5. Israel is… HOPE.
Israel provides hope through humanitarian aid and medical assistance.
They are first on the scene when natural disasters.
Save a Childs Heart: treated over 7,000 kids from 70 countries from around the world.
Syria does not recognize Israel’s right to exist and seeks to annihilate the Jewish state BUT Israel still treated more than 10,800 Syrian civilians injured durning their civil war.
Jordan is a country with a population of 10 million people. Their biggest problem? They only have enough water for 2 million! Israel provides water for 8 million Jordanians through desalination. Jordan will not allow israel to oversee the water project so another country oversees it so they can save face!
Walls that protect the borders - first only 8% are actual walls, the rest are highly sophisticated fences.
Top of the 60’ walls are Holes of hope: they believe so much in peace that they designed the walls so that in one day every wall can be taken down!
Walls were placed to prevent snipers from shooting into homes.
Israel is not the deterrent for peace in the Middle East, Israel is the HOPE of peace.
If the enemies of Israel will lay down their arms, there will be peace. If Israel lays down her arms, there will be no more Israel!
Conclusion:
6. Israel is… FAMILY.
In the book of Romans, Paul teaches that we have been grafted into the family of Abraham.
Family supports one another, works together for the good of all, loyal to each other, protects each other…
We are a part!
And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
The church did not replace Israel!
If that is the case then God is a lier.
We have been grafted into the vine!
We are wild and crazy… come from all kinds of backgrounds
But we are a part!
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: They shall prosper that love thee.
America has a three fold purpose
Finance world revival
Put down the spirit of the antichrist before it’s time
Protect Israel
Pray that God protects and keeps Israel and for the peace of Jerusalem.
Pray that God gives them a heart to know him!
We don’t hate Palestinians…
