How do we know that we are in the Last days
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

If you look at today’s political climate, there is plenty to pick and choose from that would pique our interest about the last days.
In Matthew 24:1–7 “And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”
However, the skeptic would retort, there have always been these this going on on the earth, how are floods, famines, wars and earthquakes indicator of the nearness of the Lord.
I think that is a fair question. However, Jesus also described these things as, Matthew 24:7-15
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Today we see kingdom against kingdom This certainly can mean armed conflicts as is occuring in Israel, Ukraine, but as we also see there are other types of wars to be considered. Take for example how the whole world has been put in an uproar over the tariffs placed of allies around the world by the U.S. This places Kingdom against kingdom
the Passage also speaks of, nation against nation, (ethnos) we also see especially here in the US of an attack has been launch against minority representation and rights, under the guise of getting rid of DEI. Just yesterday it was announced how the Naval academy just purged African american authors, Maya Angolo’s poems and other black authors. The black history museum the current administration is defunding the Smithsonian. Also how attacks against African, south American, asians and middle eastern people are increasing at an alarm ing rate.
The term beginning of sorrows, means"the birth pangs” that imply increasing frequency, and severity, and increasing in
