Davids Remedy to Over Come
Psalms 34 1-6
When I was growing up I remember there was all kind of  home remedies that we would use to overcome, pain or sickness. Some of y'all are still using remedies today. You get a cold and someone will say go get you some whiskey honey and rock candy. Some of y'all done tried it, I even heard one man say forget the honey and rock candy just give me the whiskey and a blanket and Ill be alright int the morning! My Grandmother Noma, God (bless her soul) I remember I use to walk over her house and all I smelled was alcohol, green alcohol to be precise. She would be rubbing her legs and explaining to me how this made her legs go down and took away the pain. I'm thinking if we could just make it through this smell! Back then lots of people chewed snuff and if you got bit they would get snuff out of their mouth wipe it on your sting and amazingly I heard it worked. I  had my encounter with a home remedy, I had a cold, I was very young, my cousin and I stayed home from school because we were sick! I remember it like it was yesterday! My cousin saw my grandmother go to the cow pastor, get some cow manure and came back to make what they called cow chip tea! I had no Idea what the tea was made out of but it healed me and my cousin. I drunk it and felt better, my cousin saw it and felt better he walked to school. Remedies work! David says to us tonight I have a remedy to overcome.
